A fantastic conclusion to a wonderful weekend

Great weather. fantastic competitors and superb petanque. Thanks all to those who attended and made the weekend so great.

First up the thank yous.
To Rob M, our umpire for the weekend
To Rob F, Rob M, Kerry, Helen, Adele, Tim, David and Smitty who did the setting out, the flags and the marking out getting there before anybody else and clearing down at the end.
And to Helen and Allan who organised, collected and delivered the lunch and prevented any hangry petanque players.

A HUGE THANKYOU.

Now the results.

Our wooden spoon went to David, Des, Candida and Richard - You got some great wins that impacted the final placings and perservered in the competition. Well done "Play By The Rules"

At the other end of the table, we had 3 teams on the last round with a shot at 2nd place. A great finish by them all.

Our third place team, with 13 wins, Isa, Remi and Danny, The Spaghettis.

In 2nd place, for the second year in a row, Adele, Smitty, Callum and Tim - 14 wins for Team Rosenberg

And the winners, who didn't drop a game all weekend, who played superbly as a team while still showing professionalism and a great attitude to competitors and officials. Congratulations to Kierran, Bronson, Guillaume and Fred, Da Boys, The mens Australian Triples squad, who had 21 wins and + 192 as their delta. Good luck to you all in Thailand, you will do Australia proud.

Wollongong open doubles for 5 club members
Adele and Smitty
Isa and Remi
And newest member Mitch (who partnered with Australian team member Kieran from Newcastle)

All three teams made the B division.

The Ghettis met the Smiths in their quarter final with the Smiths getting the upper hand.
Mitch and Kieran losing their quarter final as well to Harold and Wei who then knocked the Smiths out in the semi.
