🏆 The Road to the Darwin Cup Starts to Heat Up This Sunday! 🏆

The countdown is officially on, with the first two heats of the 2026 Darwin Cup taking centre stage at Winnellie Park this Sunday night!

The best stayers in the Top End will battle it out over 537 metres, with only the strongest performances earning a place in next week's Darwin Cup Final. Expect plenty of early speed, tactical racing and some thrilling finishes as the Cup hopefuls chase their shot at Territory glory.

Heat 1 (Race 3) features Ground Control, Birmingham, Slick Chance, Zelda Chaos and All About Jake in a quality line-up, while Heat 2 (Race 5) sees Trust Me, Bing Bing Slayer, Stockman George, Extra Pineapple, Ritza Duane and Resilient all looking to book their place in the Final.

The full nine-race program includes:
• Race 1 – Mixed 4/5 – 383m
• Race 2 – Mixed 5 – 383m
• Race 3 – Darwin Cup Heat 1 – Open 537m
• Race 4 – Mixed 5(1) – 312m
• Race 5 – Darwin Cup Heat 2 – Open 537m
• Race 6 – Mixed 1/2 – 312m
• Race 7 – Mixed M/5(2) – 312m
• Race 8 – Mixed 2/3 – 312m
• Race 9 – Grade 4 – 312m

First race jumps at 6:36pm, with the final race at 9:25pm.

With most kennel blocks located on site, successful applicants have the opportunity to be right in the heart of the action. On-site accommodation may also be available, subject to availability.
