Maeve cut her holiday short, smashed her race and came away with a shiny new PB...and maybe a new pair of bathers or two. 😉

We also loved seeing him take a moment to wave to his supporters back home—your Geelong Sharks family was cheering loud and proud! 🙌

Big things ahead for our Sharks! 🦈✨
While we eagerly await James' appearance at National Champs this weekend we're building the excitement by re-reading the write-up from the Addy last week. We're really proud of James and the way that he has settled into a new club, recovered from surgery, and continues to work towards his goals.
We’re also thrilled to be sending not only James to the National Championships, but also debut swimmer Maeve, who achieved her very first national qualifying time last weekend at All Juniors.
Your hard work, dedication, and commitment to the sport continue to inspire everyone in our club.
We’ll all be cheering you on! Nationals watch out, the sharks are on the way!

With Summer drawing to a close it’s a great time to look back at our summer of fun at the region’s open water swims. A great way to support our local surf life saving clubs and challenge ourselves with something new…which we all know can be a little bit scary. Not so much when you do it with friends 😊.

District Championships are officially done and dusted, and we couldn’t be prouder of our Sharks. Across both days we saw swimmers back themselves, step up to new challenges, and smash personal milestones — exactly what these meets are all about.

There were heaps of PBs, first-time events ticked off, and an awesome team vibe right through to the final race. Even on day two, the energy stayed high and the support for each other was unreal.

So proud of every swimmer who stood up, gave it a go, and walked away stronger than they started. 🦈💙❤️

The Victorian Country Championships right here in Geelong were everything we love about swimming — community, teamwork, effort, and fun — and the Geelong Sharks absolutely brought the spirit.

Our swimmers were incredible. From first-timers to seasoned competitors, everyone supported each other, cheered loudly, had fun, and swam superbly. We’re so proud not just of the results, but of the way our Sharks raced, encouraged their teammates, and represented our club with pride.

A huge shoutout to our amazing coaches, who somehow found time to compete themselves over the weekend 🤯 while also doing an outstanding job managing our massive team. True role models on and off the pool deck!

To our parents and families — thank you. 💙 The countless volunteer hours you put in helped make the championships run smoothly, and we truly couldn’t do it without you.

And finally, our senior swimmers brought the fun! From organising extra activities to keeping the laughs coming, and of course acting as officials for the legendary coaches’ race, you added so much joy and energy to the event.

This weekend was a perfect example of what Geelong Sharks is all about: family, participation, support, and loving the sport. Well done Sharks — we couldn’t be prouder! 🦈💙

As school starts back it's time to reflect on our summer of fun! Since holidays started we've had Vic Age Championships - congrats to Ben on a silver medal 😍, Vic Open Water Championships - congrats to Bassi on a bronze medal, Vic Country Champs (gets its own post), Rock 2 Ramp, Ripview classic, Danger 1000, Pier to Pub, triathlons, aquathons and more! Fun, friendship and plenty of adventurous spirit from our swimmers. Congrats to everyone for getting involved and pushing their comfort zone.
