Sassafras Cricket Club is now inviting expressions of interest for the role of Head Coach (Playing or Non-Playing) across all grades for the upcoming 2026/27 season.

We’re seeking a passionate, experienced, and motivated individual to lead our club both on and off the field. The successful applicant will play a key role in player development, building a strong team culture, and guiding Sassafras Cricket Club toward continued success.

🏏 Key Responsibilities:
• Plan and deliver engaging training programs to enhance individual and team performance
• Oversee game-day preparation, team selection, and on-field strategy
• Foster an inclusive, respectful, and supportive team environment
• Provide coaching across senior and junior levels, nurturing future talent
• Collaborate with the committee and support alignment with club values and media presence

🏏 Essential Criteria:
• Strong leadership and communication skills
• Ability to motivate and bring out the best in players of all skill levels
• Committed to developing a positive, team-first culture
• Coaching accreditation (Level 1 or higher) preferred but not essential

• Previous coaching experience (competitive level preferred but not essential)
• Solid tactical and technical knowledge of the game
• A genuine passion for community sport and grassroots cricket development

🔰 Annual General Meeting 🔰

Sassafras Cricket Club’s AGM will be held on Sunday the 19th of April at 12pm.

If you are interested in joining the committee or taking on a particular role this upcoming season please come along and have your say. Your say will help us move forward and plan for another big year at the club!

Volunteers play a crucial role in the success and smooth operation of a club, and without them we simply wouldnt run. We welcome anyone and everyone to come on board and help build on the success at Sassy and help make next season bigger and better than the last!

Live music at the local

This Friday at the Lucas is set to be a good one 🍻

Join us this Friday March 20 from 6pm, with Court Schmidt bringing live acoustic tunes to Latrobe. Come down early for all-day dining, footy on the screens, and stick around for your shot at the Joker Jackpot.

Good music, cold drinks, and great food - not a bad start to the weekend if you ask us. See you there!
