Thank you to the City of Casey for their contribution towards our Casey Demons First Nations dress, proudly unveiled during NAIDOC Week.
Created in collaboration with Aboriginal artist Koorrin Edwards, the artwork celebrates First Nations culture and storytelling, connection to Country, and the strength of community through sport. 23 & Under athlete and proud Kurnai woman, Holly Stephens workshopped her ideas with Koorrin to bring the dress to life.
At Casey Demons, our connections stretch from grassroots netball to the Victorian Netball League. This dress honours the athletes, coaches, officials, volunteers and families who shape our club, while celebrating the opportunity and belonging we strive to create.
We acknowledge the Bunurong people, the Traditional Custodians of the land on which we play, train and gather, and pay our respects to Elders past and present.
Thank you, City of Casey, for helping us bring this meaningful project to life and strengthen our commitment to celebrating First Nations culture within our club. 🖤💛❤️
