โญ๏ธ Life Membership Inductee - Felicity Walker โญ๏ธ
At our end of season presentations, we had the absolute privilege of inducting a new life member to Warriors Softball Club. No one more deserving than club legend Felicity Walker!
Whilst being part of Warriors Softball Club she has been more than an active member of the club by coaching junior and senior teams, umpiring and scoring. She has served on the Committee in many various roles and continues to be co-treasurer to this very day, whilst also being very involved in the Softball League in whichever way she could help including vice president.
Flick also served on the Mount Gambier Junior Sporting Foundation advocating for young softballers who showed the talent and needed the assistance. Her and Tanya Hood went out to the schools trying to grow the great game of softball.
Flick has played in many, many finals as a great outfielder but then become the catcher we didn't know we needed. She played in over five winning A grade grand finals in 1999-00, 2004-05, 2006-07, 2007-2008 and 2008-2009 but also in more recent memory of the last A grade GF played under lights against Demons in 2012-2013 - Felicity was the MVP of the game with four hits and blinding defence at second base.
The training and dedication that she showed to Warriors was second to none, she always did it with a smile on her face. She has received countless accolades and trophies from the Club and League including A Grade Best and Fairest in 2011-2012 with 25 votes, the following year she won joint Marg Cooke Memorial Winner for her service to softball.
You will not find a person that has a bad word to say about Flick; she turns up and does the work with a grin on her face and a fun attitude, she is enormously respected by all and is an asset to any team or club.
Flick is a deserving recipient of Warriors Softball Club Life Membership with all her years in the sport. She epitomises what a great club person is, is a friend to all, encouraging, hard working and reliable but most of all just a great human with love for the club, players and the sport.
From everyone at Warriors Softball Club - Congratulations Flick, a well deserved recipient of life membership ๐

SEMI FINAL - RESULTS ๐๐ค
WOW! What a game our Warriors White played yesterday against Wanderers. Coming into the game the girls have had some great battles with Wanderers, and knew they that the semi final would be no different!
The girls came out strong, the defence was unstoppable and showed just how far the team has come. The hard work at training payed off, with all players hitting well and finding the gaps.
Aggressive base running was the theme of the day, with players putting their bodies on the line to earn extra bases.
With Sarah away at the F1, Jenna stepped up and showed her versatility doing an incredible job at the pitches mound. Kel was solid behind the plate as always, supporting her pitchers and blocking any loose ball that came her way. Catching for seven innings is no easy feat, but Kel worked hard and never gave up.
The outfield of Doddsy, Alana and Harlow worked tirelessly to limit any outfield hits, taking important multiple catches and worked hard to get any outfield hit in to our infield. Doddsy, Alana and Harlow were also fantastic offensively, scoring multiple safe hits!
Hannah continued to shine at second base like she has all season, taking two important catches throughout the game, whilst Jas put her body on the line to stop Wanderers stealing bases, even taking a crucial line drive catch.
Mel and Steph were solid and showed great leadership and composure on the corners, providing a steady head leading the team! Steph was amazing in the batters box, along with Jenna who both scored 4 safe hits and were an offensive spark for the team.
Mel came in to took the pitching duties from Jenna at the end of the game and gave her all, proving her ability to step up for the team in an unfamiliar position like she has all season!
Despite not taking away the win, our players were absolutely thrilled with their performance and it was a great result for the team who have come together so well this season!
Congratulations to Mel & Sarah who have done a terrific job leading this group! We couldnโt be prouder.

Best of luck to the teams playing in the preliminary final!

ROUND EIGHTEEN ๐๐ค - Results
Friday night saw our Warriors Blue girls take on Wanderers in what was a close matchup. The girls played some of their best softball, hitting the gaps and aggressive base running. Despite a great team game, Wanderers came out on top by just one run.
Unfortunately with this loss meant that our Warriors blue girls just missed out on a spot in finals.
This team has had an awesome season, with plenty of new combinations they really came together as a team. There were plenty of standout performances throughout the season which they should be proud of! A big thankyou to coaches Leyna and Daena for the time, effort and support they have shown the team throughout the season!
Warriors White competed against the elements in their game on Saturday, rain created havoc on the diamond as it pooled in the batters box and pitching mound. Sarah did an almighty job in a flooded pitchers mound!
Our girls put up a great effort against the top team, but Demons were able to score runs when it counted. There were still plenty of highlights for Warriors White as we celebrated the 100 game milestone of club favourite Kelly Doyle, someone who will give eveything a crack and has a never give up attitude!
Hannah and Harlow continue to light up the batters box with them both recording safe hits!
Warriors White will continue their season as they have made the final series! We wish them the best of luck
