✨ A big thank you to our cleaning fairies! ✨

Our shed has had a serious sparkle-up, and it looks absolutely fantastic. A huge thank you to the wonderful people who saw what needed doing and simply got in and did it. 🧚‍♀️🧹✨

We’re incredibly lucky to have a club community where so many people quietly pitch in. It might be maintaining equipment, mowing the lawns, picking up rubbish, cleaning bathrooms, charging stroke coaches and lights, painting, fixing things, or one of the countless other jobs that keep our club running.

And that’s a good reminder for all of us! This is our shed, and looking after it is everyone’s job. ❤️💙

It can be as simple as getting the buckets and oar racks ready in the morning, helping put everything away properly at the end of a row, picking something up when you walk past it, or grabbing a broom when the floor needs a sweep.

Lots of little contributions make a very big difference.

🎉 What a fantastic Trivia Night! 🎉

A huge thank you to everyone who came along and made it such a fun, laughter-filled evening. It was wonderful to see so many members, family and friends enjoying themselves while supporting Newcastle Rowing Club.

A special thank you to our incredible volunteers and committee who worked behind the scenes to make the night happen. From planning and organising, to hosting, scoring and keeping everything running so smoothly. We couldn’t do it without you.

A big thank you also to Newcastle Cruising Yacht Club and their wonderful staff for being such welcoming hosts and helping make the evening such a success.

For the past two years, Di has been the driving force behind Newcastle Rowing Club’s Learn to Row program.

From coordinating our amazing volunteer members to helping almost 60 people become rowers, Di has dedicated countless hours to making every participant feel supported from day one.

Thank you, Di, for your organisation, generosity and unwavering commitment. Your contribution has helped grow our club and strengthen our community, and we are incredibly grateful for everything you’ve done 💙🚣

A huge congratulations to NRC members John McLeod and Margi Vercoe, who travelled to Rhodes Parkrun last weekend for its special Octogenarian Celebration, recognising Parkrunners aged 80 and over. 👏

John has now completed more than 400 Parkruns, while Margi is closing in on an incredible 300.

Their achievements extend well beyond Parkrun. The pair have been rowing together at Newcastle Rowing Club for almost 30 years and famously completed the Carrington to Berry Park Marathon in 2003 in a mixed double. Battling gale force winds, rough water and a punishing final stretch into Berry Park, they showed the same determination that still sees them active today.

The timing is especially fitting, with Newy parkrun celebrating its 14th anniversary this Saturday. John was there for the very first Newcastle Parkrunand is still taking part today.

We are incredibly proud to have John and Margi as members of Newcastle Rowing Club. Their commitment to fitness, friendship and community continues to inspire us all.

Three days of racing in Perth brought everything from sunshine to rain squalls, with NRC rowers competing across age categories A through to I in club and composite crews.

What a weekend for Newcastle Rowing Club at the 2026 NSW Masters Championships!

With sensational conditions and water like glass, it was fantastic to see such a strong contingent of NRC members racing across the weekend against quality crews from around the state and beyond as many build toward Australian Masters Rowing Championships in Perth

A brilliant effort from our crews, finishing with:

🥈 9 x 2nd places
🥉 10 x 3rd places

A huge well done to everyone who raced, coached, supported and cheered.

We’ve moved to the Newcastle Yacht Club for a fresh new feel, a better setup, and a much easier night for everyone.

CDRA Masters at Berry Park Recap 🌟

Glorious conditions at Berry Park for the 2026 Central Districts Rowing Association Masters Regatta, even with the tide running against us. A cracking day of racing and a huge showing from Newcastle Rowing Club.

Medal tally for the day:

🥈 Second place 7
🥉 Third place 9

That is 24 podium finishes across the regatta. An outstanding effort from the whole squad.
