2027 NSW U20 STATE TEAM TRIALS

Basketball NSW is now accepting registrations for the 2027 NSW Under 20 State Team Trials for both Men and Women.

Athletes born in 2008 or 2009 are invited to trial for the opportunity to represent New South Wales at the 2027 Foot Locker Under 20 National Championships.

This is a valuable opportunity for aspiring athletes (Metro & Country) to showcase their abilities, compete at a high level, and take the next step in their basketball journey representing NSW.

As we head into the final rounds of the season and finals, we'd like to remind all players, coaches, families and supporters of the important role we play in creating a positive game-day environment.

Please help us by:

✅Encouraging and supporting all players positively.
✅Respecting our refferee and Newcastle Basketball staff/officials, and accepting their decisions.
✅Demonstrating good sportsmanship towards opposition teams, coaches and supporters.
✅Remembering that while the competition becomes more intense at this time of year, respect should always come first.

Our players learn by watching the adults around them, so let's continue to set a positive example and help make every game a safe, welcoming and enjoyable experience for everyone.

We are incredibly proud to congratulate former Lakers player Lara McSpadden, who has represented Australia on the international stage and come out on top.

Competing for the Australian Gangurrus 3x3 Basketball Team at the Commonwealth Games in Glasgow, Lara and her teammates have won Gold.

Representing Australia is an extraordinary achievement, and a testament to Lara’s hard work, dedication, resilience and passion for basketball.

Our entire Lakers community is incredibly proud of Lara.

We hope her journey inspires all our current players to dream big, work hard and believe in what is possible.
