Late last month we played host for sectional play of the inaugural Perth Cup. 44 Teams took part across three clubs with the final day being hosted at Perth Bowling Club.
South Perth was represented strongly, with South Perth players in each of the quarter finals. Ross Bresland and Paul Davies skippered teams that made the semi finals.
Thanks to Aaron and his team for promoting and running the event, and the winners, Lisa Featherby, Jenny McLaughlin and Chris Ace-Watson.
The inaugural Perth Cup went down to the wire in a great final which saw the team of Lisa Featherby, Chris Ace-Watson and Jenni McLaughlin defeat Clive Adams, Chris Leggett and Deb Saunders.
Thankyou to the host clubs of Perth, North Perth Bowls Club and South Perth Bowling Club along with the many club volunteers including International Technical Officials Lorelle Watson and Sharon Lynch.
Thankyou to all the teams who supported the event and we look forward to seeing you again in 2027.

Today we installed a memorial in honour of SPBC Life Member and Bowls WA Board Member, the late Larry Bandy.
The plaque was placed in consultation with Larry's partner, SPBC member Pam Cordery.
You will notice it when you arrive to the club for your next game of bowls here.

Yesterday's Perth Cup sectional play was a roaring success with a good vibe at all venues.
South Perth teams enjoyed success with the club represented in each of the four quarter finals starting at 1pm at Perth Bowling Club.
After some great play at Perth Bowling Club, North Perth Bowls Club and South Perth Bowling Club we now have our finals qualifiers.
Good luck to all teams as they strive to become the inaugural Perth Cup winners.
Play will commence at Perth Bowling Club from 1pm on Sunday.

With the Perth Cup sectional play using the greens on Saturday, we have scheduled a one-off session of Winter Pairs this Sunday.
The normal arrangement applies, nominate through Ryan or Joe to put a team in.

Here is the much-anticipated draw for this weekend's inaugural Perth Cup.
A cracking field of 44 teams assembled with half of those engaged at South Perth.
The draw is now online for this weekends inaugural Perth Cup co-hosted with North Perth Bowls Club and South Perth Bowling Club.
All entrants will also be emailed with more information around this event including conditions of play.
All the best to everyone involved and we look forward to seeing who our champions are on Sunday afternoon.

Our fourth (after one washout) BPL Cup qualifier was run yesterday with eight teams from North Perth, Vic Park Carlisle, Osborne Park, Safety Bay, Bindoon and Bunbury participating.
Winning a tight section 1 (by one shot) were the North Perth trio of Ashley Boundy, Tony Kay & Ben Horwood.
Successful in section 2 were the undefeated Safety Bay side of Hamish Rutherford, Jim Hanafee & Chris Carruthers.
Next up are the regional qualifiers with four South Perth teams remaining in the event.
