COACHING EXPRESSIONS OF INTEREST – PORT MACQUARIE DOLPHINS
As the dust settles on another big representative season, we're already looking ahead.
Port Macquarie Basketball is seeking Expressions of Interest for coaching roles across our Junior and Senior Dolphins Representative Programs.
If you have basketball knowledge, a love of teaching the game and want to help players develop, we'd love to hear from you.
But we're looking for more than just basketball knowledge.
We want positive contributors who want to be part of the bigger picture. People who share our passion for building the Dolphins program and understand that development isn't only measured by wins and losses.
Sometimes it's a championship. Sometimes it's a player making their first representative team, developing confidence, improving a skill they've struggled with or simply becoming a better teammate.
The big wins and the little wins all matter.
Most importantly, we're looking for coaches who genuinely want to make a positive impact on the athletes they work with and who are prepared to learn, contribute and work together as part of the broader Dolphins coaching group.
Whether you're an experienced representative coach or someone with good basketball knowledge looking to take the next step into coaching, we'd encourage you to get involved.

A SEASON TO BE PROUD OF
Our 2026 Waratah League season has come to an end, with both our Dolphins Men and Women falling just short in their Semi Finals on Saturday.
While we would have loved to be preparing for Grand Finals this week, we are incredibly proud of what our Senior Dolphins program has achieved this season.
Having our Men, Women and Youth Men all qualify for finals was a fantastic result for the club. Our Men earning and winning a home Quarter Final was another significant milestone, and both our Men and Women ultimately finished their seasons among the final four.
None of this happens without an enormous amount of work behind the scenes.
A special thank you to Nicole and Maree, Nick, Grant and Adon, Mez and Chad for the time, commitment and energy they have given our teams throughout the season.
We also thank our imports Laura, Jacob and Kalil. All three have made a significant contribution not only on court, but to our broader Dolphins and PMBA programs, and we greatly appreciate the commitment they have shown to our club and community.
To our many individual player sponsors, thank you for getting behind our athletes and helping make competing at this level possible. We also sincerely thank our major partners Settlers Inn and Plowright Toyota for their continued support of the Dolphins program.
Finally, to our families, volunteers and supporters who travelled, helped on game days, filled the stands and supported our teams throughout the year — thank you.
We set out to continue building a Senior Dolphins program that Port Macquarie can be proud of. There is still plenty we want to achieve, but we finish 2026 incredibly proud of how far this group has come and of everyone who has been part of the journey.

PMBA SUMMER COMP – REGISTRATIONS NOW OPEN
Registrations are now open for the PMBA 2026/27 Summer Domestic Competition.
NEW ODD-AGE JUNIOR COMPETITIONS
This Summer we move to odd-age junior divisions – U9, U11, U13, U15 and U17.
U13 Men, U15 Men and U17 Men Division 1 teams will be drafted.
The new competition gets underway immediately after the Term 3 school holidays:
Trial Round: Week commencing Monday 12 October
Round 1: Week commencing Monday 19 October
The Summer Competition will run across the Christmas holiday break and conclude at the end of Term 2, 2027.

2027 PORT DOLPHINS REPRESENTATIVE PROGRAM
Registrations Now Open – Prep 4 Rep & Representative Trials
The journey to becoming a Port Dolphins representative starts here.
Our Prep 4 Rep program is designed to prepare players for the 2027 Junior Representative Trials through quality coaching, competitive training and representative-level skill development.
The program includes:
Three Thursday evening Prep 4 Rep sessions
Two Prep Intensives during the school holidays
Direct preparation for the 2027 Junior Representative Trials
Current Port Dolphins representative players are strongly encouraged to attend. While participation is not compulsory, Prep 4 Rep provides coaches with an opportunity to observe players prior to trials and may be viewed favourably where players are otherwise evenly matched during the selection process.
The program is also open to committed domestic players looking to take the next step in their basketball. Sessions are designed for players with an established understanding of the game and representative aspirations.

SEMI FINAL SATURDAY🙌🏆
This Saturday shapes as the biggest weekend of the year for our Dolphins Senior Program, with both our Waratah Women and Men hitting the road chasing a place in the Grand Final.
Our Women head to Hornsby to take on the Spiders at 3:00pm. The girls head into the Semi Final with plenty of confidence after defeating Hornsby just two weeks ago and will be looking to repeat that performance and book their place in the Grand Final.
Our Men travel further south to take on defending premiers Moss Vale Magic at 6pm. The boys are in good form after a strong run into the finals and an impressive Quarter Final win over the Inner West Bulls at home last weekend. Now comes another huge challenge against the reigning champions on their home floor.
Two teams. Two massive road Semi Finals. Two opportunities to play for a championship.
We wish both teams and their coaching staff all the very best and thank everyone who has played a part in getting our Senior Program to this point. Players, coaches, managers, volunteers, families and supporters — it takes a huge collective effort to compete at this level.

IT’S FINALLY HERE!
Four years ago, the Dolphins returned to the Waratah League with the goal of building a program our community could be proud of.
Since then, we’ve travelled thousands of kilometres, celebrated plenty of highs, learnt from the tough moments, and continued to grow both on and off the court.
This Saturday, we reach another significant milestone.
For the first time since our return, the Port Macquarie Dolphins will host a Waratah League Men’s Finals game at home.
Now we need our community behind us.

WHAT A SEASON!
With the 2026 NEJL & NJL Finals now complete, we'd like to take a moment to reflect on what has been another outstanding season for our Junior Dolphins.
To finish the season by hosting the NEJL & EJL Finals here in Port Macquarie was a fantastic way to showcase our club, our volunteers and our basketball community. A huge thank you to Basketball NSW, all visiting associations, referees, officials and volunteers who helped make the weekend such a success.
We're incredibly proud of what our Junior Dolphins achieved throughout the representative season:
- U/12 Girls – NJL Champions
- 6 teams qualified for the NEJL Finals
- 4 NEJL Runner-Up finishes
While the results are something to celebrate, what we're most proud of is the commitment, sportsmanship and pride shown by every one of our players. Thank you to our coaches, managers, families and volunteers who continue to make the Dolphins program such a special place to be.
