Lastly, a big congratulations to the Inagural Winner of the ‘Matt Shipp Fighting Spirit Award’ ✨✨

⭐️⭐️Nic White⭐️⭐️

The ‘Matt Shipp Fighting Spirit Award’ is a newly established perpetual award, created to honour a man who embodied what it truly means to play the game the right way. As part of this award, the recipient will have their registration covered for the following year. A small gesture that reflects the big spirit behind it.

This award isn’t about being the fastest, the flashiest or the highest try-scorer. It’s about heart. It’s about rocking up, giving it a red hot crack and competing in the right spirit every single time.

The Fighting Spirit Award is given to a player who shows courage when things are tough, resilience when the odds are against them and respect at all times. For their teammates, their opposition and the referees. They may not always be the standout on the scoreboard, but they are the one who lifts those around them. The one who keeps showing up. The one who refuses to give in.

It honours the qualities that defined Matt: perseverance, loyalty, grit and an unwavering commitment to his team, his family and his community. A top bloke, loved on and off the field, who uplifted everyone simply by being part of it.

As a perpetual award, it ensures that his fighting spirit continues to live on each season. Every recipient becomes part of that legacy, carrying forward the values of effort, integrity and heart that make our game and our community stronger.

Huge congratulations to our ‘President Award’ Winner

⭐️⭐️ Stew Dracup ⭐️⭐️

Stew was also one of several people considered for this award. His attention to detail for our U10 competition helped it to be the success it was. His passion for junior touch was evident with the amount of junior teams he coached. He coach's Hazards Womens 1, and Assistant with W2 and other Hazards teams is extremely valued.
His drive and focus for Elite Touch football helped us gain extra help and coaching prior to our recent State Cup success. He is a valued member of the LTA Committee.

Huge congratulations to our ‘Coach of the Year’ award winner

⭐️⭐️ Cam Bailey ⭐️⭐️

Cam was one of multiple coaches discussed for this award. Cam coached the Mens 1 Premiers in 24/25, led a Sharks team in 2025 Premier League season, whilst also taking control of Luigi's Legends in our first ever Blitzball season.
At NYC Cam was charged with the Under 18 boys - never an easy feat - but he did it with style and dignity. Not once was he heard to raise his voice or loose his cool. Also coaching the boys to the Alliance Final - which they eventually took out against NT. Cam can also be seen coaching NSATIS teams and St Pats College at the State School Series.
