Our Women's 2s, after a stella Home and Away season, secured a spot in the Grand Final with a 2 nil win at home in stunning sunshine. The match will be at the State Netball and Hockey Centre in 2 Saturdays time.

We had mixed results in the other grades but the Mens 1s have their chance to play in the Grand Final with a Preliminary Final this weekend. Details to be confirmed.

Finals weekend is here and the club is buzzing. We’ve got six teams in action across Saturday and Sunday, with the Womens 2s and Mens 1s (anyone up for a road trip to Gippsland) earning themselves a well-deserved double chance.

Saturday is shaping up to be a massive day at home with three games back-to-back. If you’re around the club, the canteen will be running all day with hot food, cold drinks, and plenty of coffee to keep everyone going. Get around the club this weekend, GO GUNNERS!

Another day another gold medal to Greg Van Meeuwen, this time in the Over 60s Masters World Cup in Brasschaat just outside of Antwerp. Congratulations though it is minorly disappointing that there was no viral video to go with it 🟢🟡🟢🏆

La Trobe University Hockey Club is deeply saddened to share the passing of former President and Life Member Michael “Frey” Godfrey.

Michael was a cherished member of our community from 1987 to 2009. He served as President in 1992–93, was awarded Life Membership in 2007, and played a pivotal role in shaping the Club’s intervarsity culture and the early development of our turf facility. His generosity, leadership and commitment left a lasting legacy that continues to benefit our players today.

Michael will be remembered for his positivity, his love of hockey, and the friendships he built across decades. Our thoughts are with Sandy, William, Ethan, Casey, and the extended Godfrey and Menpes families.

A massive thank you to everyone who rolled up their sleeves and helped out at our Bunnings BBQ (and anyone who came and bought a snag)! We managed to raise over $2,000, all while soaking up some stunning winter sunshine out at Thomastown Bunnings.

Pulling this off was no small feat, especially on a weekend when so many of us had hockey games scattered all over Melbourne.

A special shoutout goes to Pauly X for organizing the day (even though he was also the star attraction at the La Trobe University Open Day which was on Sunday), and to Higgo for running the show from start to finish.

Thank you to our amazing crew of volunteers: Trav, Katy, Nick, Oli, Kate Hart, Louise Sirianni, Giacomo & Angus, Katie Mann, Ross Walker, Waz, Sheepy and Tim Curmi.

Efforts like this help keep our fees the lowest in Melbourne and hockey affordable to everyone. 🔴⚪🔴🌭🌭

We sold over 100 tickets and raised more than $2,000 for the club!

Kate raised the stakes with our catering by putting on an amazing spread, with Penny providing invaluable support in the kitchen. Gabe worked the bar right through until close, bringing his bartending experience to the fore. Phil and Jodi kept the night moving as MCs, and Evan ran the count with precision with his super excel skills. Lots of help from others throughout the night to make it a success.

A special thank you to Hawkers Beer for supplying the keg and donating prizes for the event.
