We know our Junior Non-Competition teams finish their season this Saturday, but we’ve got something special planned! 🧡🖤

We have organised a special training session which will be led by our Junior Coaching Coordinator for another Titans Ambassador visit!

🐯 𝗧𝗛𝗔𝗡𝗞 𝗬𝗢𝗨 — 𝗦𝗢𝗨𝗧𝗛𝗣𝗢𝗥𝗧 𝗧𝗜𝗚𝗘𝗥𝗦 𝗦𝗣𝗢𝗥𝗧𝗦𝗠𝗔𝗡’𝗦 𝗟𝗨𝗡𝗖𝗛 🐯

What a fantastic afternoon at the Southport Tigers Clubhouse.

A huge thank you to 𝗡𝗮𝘁𝗲 𝗠𝘆𝗹𝗲𝘀 and 𝗧𝗼𝗱𝗱 𝗖𝗮𝗿𝗻𝗲𝘆 for giving their time so generously and keeping everyone thoroughly entertained with stories from their NRL careers. There were plenty of laughs, some great insights and more than a few old war stories along the way.

We are also incredibly grateful to everyone who came along, supported the event and got involved in the silent auction.

Events like this play an important role in supporting our Club. 𝗘𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘆 𝗱𝗼𝗹𝗹𝗮𝗿 𝗿𝗮𝗶𝘀𝗲𝗱 𝗴𝗼𝗲𝘀 𝘀𝘁𝗿𝗮𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁 𝗯𝗮𝗰𝗸 𝗶𝗻𝘁𝗼 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗦𝗼𝘂𝘁𝗵𝗽𝗼𝗿𝘁 𝗧𝗶𝗴𝗲𝗿𝘀 and helps us continue delivering a safe, fun and inclusive rugby league program for players and families — from our Under 6s right through to our Open Men’s and Women’s teams.

Of course, the day did come with an unexpected challenge.

At the 11th hour, our original venue cancelled our booking after receiving a better offer. Rather than let that derail the event, we did what community clubs do best — adapted, made lemonade and brought the lunch home to the 𝗦𝗼𝘂𝘁𝗵𝗽𝗼𝗿𝘁 𝗧𝗶𝗴𝗲𝗿𝘀 𝗖𝗹𝘂𝗯𝗵𝗼𝘂𝘀𝗲.

In the end, we couldn’t have asked for a better atmosphere.

Thank you to everyone who rolled with the last-minute change, backed the Club and helped turn what could have been a major headache into a fantastic afternoon.

And thank you again to everyone who supported the silent auction, our guests and, most importantly, the Tigers.

We’ll be back again next season — 𝗯𝗶𝗴𝗴𝗲𝗿 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗯𝗲𝘁𝘁𝗲𝗿!

Expressions of Interest – Tigers Football Committees 2027

Dear Tigers Members,

The Board of Directors is inviting expressions of interest from current Tigers members who would like to serve on one of the Club’s two new football committees:-

Junior Football Committee
Under 6s to Under 16s

Senior Football Committee
Under 17s to Open Men and Women

These committees are being established to give members a greater opportunity to contribute to the operation and future development of football at the Tigers.

Working under the direction of and reporting to the Board, each committee will assist with:-
-coordinating game-day volunteers;
-supporting routine football operations;
-maintaining communication with coaches and team managers;
-identifying operational issues and opportunities for improvement; and
-providing reports and recommendations to the Board.

All financial, contractual, policy and significant governance decisions will remain with the Board of Directors.

We are looking for members who are passionate about the Tigers and prepared to make a positive and constructive contribution. Relevant experience is welcomed but is not essential.

We encourage expressions of interest from across the Club, including parents and carers, coaches, managers, players, former players, volunteers, administrators, sponsors and community supporters.

Committee members will be expected to:-
-act in the best interests of the Club;
-attend committee meetings and assist with agreed responsibilities;
-comply with the Club’s Constitution, policies and Code of Conduct;
-maintain appropriate confidentiality;
-comply with applicable child-safety and Blue Card requirements; and
-work cooperatively with the Board, Club officials and other committee members.

Appointments will be made by the Board after expressions of interest have been reviewed. Submitting an application does not guarantee appointment.

Expressions of interest close at 5:00pm on Friday 2nd October 2026 but may be extended by the Board. We are conducting this process now so that sufficient onboarding and training can commence early so that we can get off to a roaring start to 2027.

This is a valuable opportunity to help strengthen the way football is delivered at the Tigers and to contribute to the future direction of the Club. We encourage all interested members to apply.
