Two years in Boys Gymnastics. One session per week. And Tara's son is still showing up, still progressing and still loving it. Strength. Coordination. Real gymnastics skills. A fun environment. No competitive pressure.

That's not a marketing pitch — that's a mum describing what her son actually experiences every week.

Boys Gymnastics at Modbod runs Monday to Saturday for ages 5–12. Every session is structured, active and coach-led — no queuing, no standing around.

This is what a Beginner Gymnastics class actually looks like at Modbod.

Every station has a purpose. Nothing is random. Here’s what the kids are working on today.

🔵 Floor Beam
Straddle to bottom — arms straight the whole way down. Teaching body control and balance before the skill gets harder.

🔵 Pike Handstands
Straight legs, walking all the way to the other side. Building the shoulder strength and body tension every gymnast needs.

🔵 P-Bars
Swings with a focus on hip drive — push forward, finish behind. The foundation of every bar skill that follows.

🔵 Glide Swings
Both feet in, hips forward and back, three times. Simple cue, massive impact on core activation.

🔵 Candlestick Station
Kick up, legs straight, eyes on toes. One of the best drills for teaching full body tension from the ground up.

🔵 Low Bar
Glide swings, push, re-grips. The real work happens here — and the kids don’t even realise how much they’re learning.

🔵 Tucks Station
Tuck holds and tuck spins back and forth. Finishing the session strong with core control and coordination.

Seven stations. One session. Real skills your child can feel and name by the time they walk out the door.

Most parents assume gymnastics and tumbling are the same thing. They're not — and the difference matters when you're choosing the right program for your child.

Gymnastics is the all-rounder — bars, beam, floor and trampoline. Broad, structured, covers a wide range of movement.

Tumbling is a deep dive into floor-based power — round-offs, handsprings and progressions toward flips. Perfect for kids in dance or cheer who need specific floor skills.

Both programs cover handstands and cartwheels at the beginner level — but Tumbling will fast-track that experience.

Not sure which one suits your child? That's exactly what a trial class is for. Our coaches assess where your child is at and place them in the right program from day one.

High-quality coaching. Zero competitive bloat.

We believe every child deserves to learn real gymnastics skills—like clean cartwheels, handstands, and back handsprings—without their family having to manage a secondary mortgage or lose every weekend to competitions.

That is why Modbod Gymnastics Club is built around a pure recreational model. We cut out the unnecessary expenses of competitive gymnastics while maintaining what matters most: low 8-to-10:1 coach ratios, experienced coaches, and structured pathways.

Your child gets the physical strength, confidence, and skill progression they want, and you get a reliable, once-a-week routine that fits family life.

🛑 Stop letting your kids practice front flips on the lounge room couch! 🤸‍♂️

Our beginner gymnastics circuit on the long tramp end is packed with fun, safe drills to help them master the technique properly!
This week, Coach Millie is leading our gymnasts through front flip foundations—like peanut rolls off the box and bunny hops into forward rolls onto higher surfaces! 💥

We’re also leveling up our handstand and cartwheel drills, using wall-pop drills to teach the popping action needed to progress into strong round-offs. Plus, a fun hula hoop skipping challenge for an extra boost of strength and mobility! ⭕️

Big air starts with safe landing mechanics. 🤸✨

If your child loves jumping off furniture or bouncing on the backyard trampoline, our classes at Modbod Gymnastics Club give them the structured space they need to do it safely.

Bouncing off a mini-trampoline onto a raised safety mat isn't just fun—it teaches air awareness, core engagement, and correct landing technique. Our coaches are right there beside every jump, guiding form and ensuring every landing is controlled.

Give your child the physical confidence to know what their body can do, taught properly in a low-pressure environment.
