Amy Barker – CommBank Young Matildas Squad Announcement 🇦🇺

We are extremely proud to see Amy Barker, one of the players who represented U16 AUSFS All Stars 2023 during our Spain 🇪🇸 camp and tournament program, selected for the CommBank Young Matildas squad.

When Amy wore the All Stars jersey, she was also playing for Sydney University FC and was already standing out as a special talent with her high technical ability, football intelligence, and calm presence on the field. She was a midfielder capable of controlling the tempo of the game, leading her team, and making a real impact with her leadership qualities. During the camp and tournament, she captained the team and attracted attention not only with her football quality but also with her character and professionalism.

In Spain, Amy gained valuable international experience by competing against some of Europe’s biggest clubs, including Real Madrid. The performances and development she showed throughout the tour gave strong signs for her future.

Today, seeing Amy progress through the Wanderers pathway and now being named in the Australian National Team setup makes us incredibly happy. Watching players reach these levels is another reminder of how valuable scouting and development opportunities can be for young players.

We would like to wish Amy continued success in her football journey. Hopefully, in the near future, we will also see her playing at A-League level and later in European football as well.

A Proud Development Journey For Lily Joy Taylor

We are proud to continue following the development of Lily Joy Taylor, who represented our AUSFS All Stars U19 Women program last season after being identified by our scouting team.

Last year, .__.taylor was officially selected for our U19 All Stars Spain 🇪🇸 tournament and training camp squad, where she had the opportunity to compete and showcase herself at an international level.

Throughout the camp and tournament process, she impressed with her performances, mentality, bravery as a goalkeeper, and strong physical presence. Through the All Stars Scouting platform, we were able to introduce her to clubs in Europe, which later led to training opportunities with one of Germany’s historic clubs, Stuttgart.

During this period, our scouting team closely monitored and reported on her performances throughout the European camp and tournament experience. Based on these reports and her overall development, she was later identified and invited into the New Zealand National Team environment for further assessment.

Seeing Lily’s progress step by step has genuinely made us happy, and we believe her mentality, courage, and work ethic can take her even further in the future.

Catalina Lucie Wyrzynski ⚽

Catalina Lucie Wyrzynski was one of the players who wore the Australia Sydney All-Star Scouting jersey in 2023, taking part in the Spain 🇪🇸 camp and tournament.

At the time she was first identified and wore the scouting jersey, Catalina was playing at federation level. This experience became a very valuable step in her development.

During the tournament, she competed against top European clubs such as Bayern Munich and Real Madrid, playing in the U16 category despite being only 14 years old. Competing two age groups above provided an important experience both technically and mentally.

Throughout the Spain camp, her performances in training sessions and matches were highly impressive. Notably, she scored a goal against Bayern Munich, marking a standout moment in her development journey.

Following this experience, she progressed from federation level to Western Sydney Wanderers, where she continues her football career successfully.

We wish her continued success in her football career.

Amy Barker stood out as one of the players in the first team of the Australia Sydney All-Star Scouting formation in 2023. She was identified at Sydney University FC and quickly drew attention with her game intelligence, composure, and technical quality.

On the field, Amy makes a difference with her ball control, ability to change direction, and decision-making. She also shows strong leadership qualities, taking responsibility as a team captain and effectively guiding the game.

During the Spain camp, her performances in both training sessions and friendly matches were highly impressive. In the tournament, she gained valuable experience competing against top European clubs, including Real Madrid, proving her ability to perform at that level.

After returning to Australia, Amy continued her football journey with Sydney University FC and later with Western Sydney Wanderers (WSW). Her progression is very pleasing to see.
