🥊 Life Value of the Week: COURAGE 🥊
Many people think courage is only displayed when a boxer steps into the ring.
The truth is, courage is something we can demonstrate every single day.
Courage is standing up for what is right, even when it is unpopular.
Courage is standing up against bullying and choosing kindness when others choose negativity.
Courage is having the confidence to speak up when something is wrong, while also having the wisdom to do it respectfully.
Courage is trying something new, even when there is a chance you might fail.
Courage is setting big goals, taking on difficult challenges, and pushing yourself outside your comfort zone.
Courage is showing up to training when you don’t feel like it.
Courage is learning from mistakes instead of giving up.
Courage is believing in yourself when others doubt you.
At Champions for Pilbara Boxing Academy, we teach our students that courage is not the absence of fear. Courage is taking action despite fear.
Every challenge you overcome, every obstacle you face, and every step you take towards becoming a better person requires courage.
This week, challenge yourself to be brave enough to try something new, stand up for what is right, and become the best version of yourself.
💙❤️ Be courageous.
💙❤️ Be resilient.
💙❤️ Be the person you were created to be.

🥊 Congrats Lucan and Team! 🥊
This past weekend, my former boxing academy in New Zealand - Mid Canterbury Boxing Academy competed at the South Island Golden Gloves Championships, and it was fantastic to see the team perform so well.
A huge congratulations to Lucan on becoming the Open Elite Heavyweight South Island Golden Gloves Champion, winning both his semifinal and final in impressive fashion. This was his second open Elite Heavyweight title, won his 1st Open Elite Title when he was 19 and faced adults for the 1st time.
I first met Lucan when he was 12 years old and had the privilege of coaching him throughout some of his most important developmental years. He boxed under my coaching until he was around 14 or 15 years old before stepping away from the sport for a year or two. When he eventually returned to boxing, he weighed over 137kg.
Rather than making excuses, Lucan committed himself to the process. Through hard work, discipline, and determination, he transformed himself both physically and mentally, eventually reducing his weight to 92kg and returning to the sport with renewed purpose and hunger.
When I moved to Australia, Lucan stepped into the role of Head Coach and has led the academy ever since. Being able to leave the academy in the capable hands of one of my very own students was both a privilege and a proud moment for me. Watching him grow from a young boy into a champion boxer, coach, and leader has been incredibly rewarding.
A special congratulations also goes to Ryan and Blake, who showed tremendous skill, heart, and confidence throughout the tournament. It was great to see how much they have developed, and they should be very proud of their performances.
I’d also like to acknowledge and congratulate all the assistant coaches and support crew who helped prepare and support the athletes throughout the event. Success like this is always a team effort, and these achievements are only possible because of the dedication of everyone involved.
On behalf of everyone at Champions for Pilbara Boxing Academy, congratulations to Lucan, Ryan, Blake, the coaching team, and the entire club. We wish you all the very best as you prepare for the New Zealand National Championships this October.
Keep working hard, stay humble, and keep inspiring others. 👊🔥

MINDSET - Final Academy Value
Your mindset can either become your greatest weapon or your biggest limitation.
As a coach, former Boxer and Champion, I’ve seen talented athletes lose fights before they even stepped into the ring, simply because of doubt, fear, or a negative perspective. I’ve also seen average athletes achieve incredible things because they believed in themselves, stayed disciplined, and refused to give up.
The same applies in life.
Opportunities, challenges, pressure, setbacks, criticism… two people can face the exact same situation and walk away with completely different outcomes. Why? Because of mindset.
One person sees pressure and wants to quit.
Another sees pressure as a chance to grow.
One person sees failure as the end.
Another sees failure as a lesson.
Your perspective shapes your actions.
Your actions shape your habits.
Your habits shape your future.
A strong mindset does not mean life is easy. It means you choose to keep moving forward even when life gets hard.
Train your body.
But more importantly, train your mind.
Champions are built long before the fight begins.

🔥 LIFE VALUE OF THE WEEK: INTEGRITY 🔥
Integrity is not just about who you are in public.
It’s about who you are when nobody’s watching.
In boxing and in life, integrity means:
🥊 Doing the hard work even when you don’t feel like it
🥊 Staying honest when it would be easier to lie
🥊 Respecting others, your coaches, teammates and yourself
🥊 Giving your best effort, even when no one is clapping for you
A true champion is built on character first.
Titles, medals and wins may earn attention for a moment… but your reputation, your honesty and your actions are what people remember long term.
At Champions for Pilbara, we’re not only building fighters.
We’re building young leaders with strong values and strong character.
This week, challenge yourself:
Are your actions matching your words?
“Integrity is doing what’s right, not what’s easy.”
