Magnetic Island to Townsville swim 2026 Congratulations Tatum - led the field until the 6km mark. Finished as the 1st male 14-18y, 2nd male and 4th overall in 2h 1min 56sec

In today's Townsville Bulletin

Today is the - Club Captain Tatum will swim 8km from Magnetic Island to Townsville and Club sponsor Lian from DESIGN LAB 23 will paddling beside him all the way. Swimmers will start from the Island around 8:30am and are expected into the beach below Strand Park anytime from 10:00am onwards. Reece from Club sponsor Active Health Psychology will swim 4km as part of a Duo. There are also a number of swimmers from other local swim clubs participating. If you are in the area this morning, put on your Lightning shirt and get down to the beach to cheer the swimmers in!

This Saturday morning, Year 10 student Tatum will take on the 72nd annual Magnetic Island to Townsville Swim.

The 8 km swim starts at Picnic Bay on Magnetic Island and finishes at Strand Park beach. What an incredible challenge!

Well that's a wrap for Qld State Short Course Swimming Championships 2026 Lightning Swimming Club.

Firstly I am very proud of our representatives who swam their hardest for Lightning Swimming Club!

These swimmers swam with a confidence level of 100% and the smiles were evidence of that.🙂
