Have a look at the info sheet on event secretary to see what we have on offer class wise. You will see both long and short format classes for the FEI 2/3/4* classes. Plus national long format for 1* and 1* Jnr plus a new to WA 95 Long format class which we are excited to put on!

A YEAR AGO, SHE WAS TRAPPED IN AN OVERTURNED HORSEBOX. NOW, SHE’S A NATIONAL CHAMPION. ❤️🐴

For River Rise Onassis, simply returning home safely from the National Dressage Championships became a fight for survival.

In 2025, the horsebox carrying the mare was struck from behind on the M6 during severe weather and overturned. Her owner, Sue Garrard, escaped with minor injuries, but Onassis remained trapped inside for hours.

Sue feared she had lost her.

The mare survived, but deep injuries around her fetlocks took months to heal. Her remarkable calmness during the ordeal helped prevent an already terrifying situation from becoming even worse.

What followed was a long recovery, careful rehabilitation and a gradual return to work.

Then, a year after the accident, Onassis returned to the National Dressage Championships with rider Sadie Smith — and won the seven-year-old young-horse title with a score of 81.17%.

For Sue, watching her mare compete again was deeply emotional. Twelve months earlier, she had faced the possibility of never bringing her home. Now she was watching her become a champion.

Behind that result were months of care, patience and hope — and a mare whose journey made every step into the arena mean something extraordinary.

A beautiful comeback for a horse who had already overcome so much. ❤️

One of Hollywood’s most recognisable voices belongs to a man with a love many of us share — horses. 🐴❤️

Morgan Freeman’s connection with horses began during his childhood in Mississippi, long before the film roles that made him famous.

Years later, working on Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves helped him develop his riding skills further. He has spoken openly about learning from the film’s horse master and discovering how much he still had to understand about communicating with a horse.

Away from the cameras, Freeman bought a ranch in Mississippi and a dun Quarter Horse gelding named Sable, who became a treasured companion.

His recollections of their time together touch on something familiar to horse lovers: the comfort of simply walking with a horse and having them choose to follow you. Those quiet moments can mean as much as any ride.

We know him for the stories he brings to life on screen. His affection for horses reveals another part of that life — one built around patience, trust and companionship.

How to Tie a Bridle Knot

A "bridle knot" is neat, flat, and easy to tie — perfect for bridles, reins, and more.

Steps:
(Think: Top down, then round and round.)

1️⃣ Thread your tie leather through the holes. Leave the bottom strand slightly longer.

2️⃣ Fold the top strand down.

3️⃣ Wrap the bottom strand under the top strand.

4️⃣ Repeat step #3 until you're out of room.

That’s it! Simple, secure, and you're ready to ride. 🐎
