Our very own Emmanuel Kgabotsile (BWF Umpire) represented Africa at the Thomas & Uber Cup Finals in Denmark—showcasing dedication, professionalism, and world-class officiating.

Big changes are coming to the game we love 🏸

From January 2027, all BWF events will officially shift from the 21-point scoring system to 15 points per set. This major decision follows extensive research and was ultimately approved by the BWF Council in consultation with Member Associations.

A new era for badminton is on the horizon — faster, more intense, and even more exciting. Stay informed and be part of the conversation.

The Badminton Confederation Africa held its AGM in Denmark ahead of the BWF AGM & Member’s Forum, with BBA President Modisaotsile Badubi attending as Botswana’s delegate reaffirming our commitment to the growth of badminton. Also representing Botswana was Mr. Mpiwa Bosenogile, serving in his role as Treasurer of Badminton Confederation Africa.
