๐ŸŽค Post-Race Interview โ€“ Letsile Tebogo ๐Ÿ‡ง๐Ÿ‡ผ

Interviewer: Letsile, congratulations on the win! A seasonโ€™s best of 19.84. How do you feel about that performance?

Letsile Tebogo: Thank you. Iโ€™m happy with the win and the time. The main goal was to execute my race, stay relaxed, and keep building momentum as the season progresses. Running 19.84 shows that the work weโ€™re putting in is paying off.

Interviewer: You looked very comfortable out there. Was that part of the plan?

Letsile Tebogo: Definitely. We wanted a controlled race. Thereโ€™s still a lot more to come, but today was about getting the win, scoring points, and continuing to improve race by race.

Interviewer: You were up against a strong field, including young Australian star Gout Gout. What was it like competing against him?

Letsile Tebogo: Itโ€™s great for the sport. We need young talent coming through, and heโ€™s doing really well. Competition pushes all of us to be better, and I wish him the best for the future.

Interviewer: Whatโ€™s next for you?

Letsile Tebogo: Just staying focused, trusting the process, and preparing for the next races. The season is long, and the biggest goals are still ahead.

Interviewer: Any message for the fans back home in Botswana?

Letsile Tebogo: Thank you for the support. I feel your love everywhere I go. Keep supporting Team Botswana, and weโ€™ll keep making you proud. ๐Ÿ‡ง๐Ÿ‡ผโค๏ธ

After beating Gout Gout in the Oslo Diamond League 200m, Letsile Tebogo praised the Australian teenagerโ€™s talent but also offered some advice.

Tebogo said that Gout has the potential to become one of the best sprinters in the world, but warned against rushing too quickly into senior-level competition. He suggested that Gout should continue focusing on age-group competitions and gradually transition to the senior ranks to avoid burnout and injuries.

๐Ÿ‡ง๐Ÿ‡ผ๐Ÿ”ฅ LETSILE TEBOGO DOMINATES OSLO!

Olympic 200m champion Letsile Tebogo stormed to victory in the menโ€™s 200m at the Oslo Diamond League, clocking a seasonโ€™s best 19.84 seconds (+0.2) with what looked like a controlled and comfortable run. The performance marks his first sub-20-second race of the 2026 season and confirms that the Botswana star is finding top form.

๐Ÿ‡ฆ๐Ÿ‡บ Rising Australian sensation Gout Gout, making his Diamond League debut at just 18 years old, finished 6th in 20.60 seconds. Despite the result, the teenager gained valuable experience against one of the strongest 200m fields in the world and remains one of the sportโ€™s brightest young talents.

๐Ÿ‡ฟ๐Ÿ‡ฆ Bafana Bafanaโ€™s journey does not have to end after 3 matches.

South Africa is in Group A alongside ๐Ÿ‡ฒ๐Ÿ‡ฝ Mexico, ๐Ÿ‡ฐ๐Ÿ‡ท South Korea, and ๐Ÿ‡จ๐Ÿ‡ฟ Czechia. Their group-stage fixtures are:

* ๐Ÿ‡ฒ๐Ÿ‡ฝ Mexico vs ๐Ÿ‡ฟ๐Ÿ‡ฆ South Africa โ€” 11 June
* ๐Ÿ‡จ๐Ÿ‡ฟ Czechia vs ๐Ÿ‡ฟ๐Ÿ‡ฆ South Africa โ€” 18 June
* ๐Ÿ‡ฟ๐Ÿ‡ฆ South Africa vs ๐Ÿ‡ฐ๐Ÿ‡ท South Korea โ€” 24 June

The expanded 48-team World Cup means:
โœ… The top two teams in each group qualify for the Round of 32.
โœ… The eight best third-placed teams across all groups also advance.

So Bafana Bafana have a realistic chance of progressing beyond the group stage if they collect enough points. A strong result against Czechia and South Korea could be crucial.

๐ŸšŒ The Bafana bus can definitely travel further than Mexico โ€” but the players will have to earn the ticket to the Round of 32 first! ๐Ÿ‡ฟ๐Ÿ‡ฆ๐Ÿ”ฅโšฝ
