Almonte Curling Club

We're very sad to let you know that our friend and fellow ACC member, Steve Preiss, has passed away. Our thoughts are with Steve's family at this sad time. We at the ACC will remember Steve for his big smile and great spirits.

Steve's wife Pam has shared the following message:
On June 14, while relaxing around a campfire below beautiful waterfalls on the Coulonge River, Steve Preiss died. Two friends valiantly tried to save him.

Steve was a strong, opinionated guy who loved his family and got such a charge out of his grandkids. His friendships meant so much to him too. He lived life to the fullest and was always looking for the next adventure. His happiest times were in the midst of a forest, whether mountain biking, skiing glades, canoeing, kayaking or hiking. The only time he preferred to be out in the open was on the fairway.

My suggestion is for all to cherish your loved ones. Life is so precious but can be so fleeting.

There will be no funeral as Steve never wanted one. Instead he would want you to get outside, enjoy some wonderful time in nature, and raise a toast to some fond memories of time spent with him.
