Pre race / pre time trial session and I felt great - My racewalking journal entry this morning (see below) says it best!

Now for a low key day with rest, fueling, and positive self talk - I am excited about my 5km time trial tomorrow morning.

Have a super day one and all!

Wow! What a great start to my recovery day...

With complete rest to reward my after yesterday's double workout day, I slept 10 hours last night and I can feel the difference.

With hopes of two more nights of solid sleep, and tomorrow's light pre race workout, I will be ready for my 5km time trial - Goal: 33:15.

Time will tell!

Here is a pic of me leaving the track stadium 🏟 after my light afternoon interval session.

After a 2k warm-up and strides it was right into my 4 x 400m (2:30) with 2 minutes rest. My times were as follows:

2:28.8
2:25.4
2:23.6
2:19.9

While tired after the two sessions in one day check out my previous post for the morning data), I do have to say that I am getting a little bit more excited for Sunday's 5km Time Trial.

With tomorrow my recovery day and Saturday a light "pre race" workout, the work, for now, is done!

Have a lovely evening one and all!

Well, I managed to divide 'to' conquer with today's workout.

This morning, after my warm-up and strides, I did 3 x 1k, with two minutes rest, intervals of 6:12.9, 6:13.1, and 6:06.3. While too fast, they really got me excited again.

This afternoon I will be on the track working on pace (a rehearsal of sorts) doing 4 x 400m in 2:30 with two minutes recovery - hopefully in a nice, relaxed, and controlled manner - all in preparation for my 5km time trial in four days.

Have yourselves a terrific day, one and all!

Great morning as I try to forget about my fatigue problem during training...

It was first off to Arikok National Park for a foot treatment (nibbling little fish) before exploring the two huge caves there.

Then, it was off to the Aloe Factory for a little tour and shopping.

A great morning of distraction...

WTF...Here we go again!

What is going on? I am always tired and this no longer feels normal - not just from training at all! There is something bigger happening here...My legs have NOT felt fresh for quite a while and this is mentally draining coping with this.

I will be taking some rest days from racewalking, number of days off TBD. When I get back to Canada the end of May, I will be contacting my doctor immediately! Is it my iron level, etc...?

Again, this is not normal...

However, there is still so much more in life to celebrate - Get out and don't take anything for granted.

This morning it was out for a tired 6k recovery racewalk at 7:55/km pace, with an Avg HR of 101 bpm.

Now that the racewalk is out of the way, it is off to Ayo Rock Formations where a gentle photo hike is in order - stay tuned for photos coming soon on my page titled Randy Bullerwell.

Have a gorgeous day, one and all!

It was a scheduled easy 10kms in 1:14:22 with an average pace of 7:27/km (Avg HR 122 bpm instead of the prescribed Avg HR of 128 bpm).

My initial thought is that, while my heart rate is low, indicating fitness, my legs are still somewhat fatigued. Hmmmm!

Also, I am not very confident about my mechanics, in particular, my left leg extension as the heel makes contact with the ground in my left forward strike - another Hmmmmm!

I will have a racewalking video of this made for my coach this afternoon - We will find out!

Have a fabulous day, one and all!

After an easy 6k recovery racewalk, and some pool time, it was off to the Butterfly Farm for a beautiful contemplative time.

A grind but I got it done...

With an entertaining head on wind for the first 600m of my first 1k interval, I knew the workout this morning (4:00am) would be a tough one.

However, I did get through it rather quickly but very glad that session is in the books!

As for the rest of the day, swimming and hanging out at my favourite beach - Mangel Halto...

Have a lovely day, one and all!
