The final RowOn Beach Sprint Cup Series regatta of 2026 took place Saturday, Sept. 19 at Lakeside Beach in St. Catharines and saw the Series first ever Champions crowned after four exciting and record-breaking events.

Infinitely proud of our crew that showed up and represented till the end!!! Our rowers pulled through in the 15 C with awesome 2 foot waves! 🌊 Thank you to Row Ontario for setting up such an amazing event, as well as Hudson for the coastal singles!

We are incredibly proud to share that BRC received the Community Excellence Award at the Brockville and District Chamber of Commerce’s 67th Annual Awards of Excellence Gala.

Head Coach Tyler St. John accepted the award with nine of our competitive rowers standing beside him - a powerful picture of what this club is about: young people discovering what they can achieve when a community believes in them.

“While other people are in bed dreaming their dreams, these guys are living theirs.”

Our rowers rise at 5:00 in the morning to train on the St. Lawrence. They work hard, support one another and learn that leadership, commitment, perseverance and community matter both on and off the water.

But they do not do it alone.

As a not-for-profit, BRC relies on donations, fundraising and the generosity of local businesses and community partners. Every contribution helps us maintain our equipment, strengthen our programs and give more young people the opportunity to row, grow and pursue their goals.

This award belongs to our rowers and their families. It belongs to our coaches, volunteers and Board members. It belongs to the businesses, donors, sponsors and community partners who continue to invest in BRC and its young people.

Congratulations to our fellow nominees, Sherwood Park Manor and RNJ Youth Services. We are honoured to be recognized alongside two organizations doing such meaningful work in our community.

Thank you to the Brockville & District Chamber of Commerce for this tremendous honour. And thank you, Brockville, for believing in what this historic club can become.

For 132 years, BRC has stood on the shores of the St. Lawrence. With your support, we can open our doors to more young people, build the next generation of athletes and leaders, and ensure the club remains part of Brockville for generations to come.

Last weekend the BRC said “see you soon” to Big Ben Dewal and his family. Ben has been an integral member of the crew since last summer, and will now continue training and competing at Trent University! Congrats Ben, and can’t wait to see all the great things you will do!
