Ripening fruit releases natural gas called ethylene, and while it helps fruit mature, it actually makes fresh flowers wilt faster.

So if you want your blooms to last longer, keep them away from fruit bowls! 🍉 🍌 🍎

Monday Motivation:

Cut tulips don’t stop growing when the lights go out — they keep stretching rising and becoming their most beautiful self.

Meet Cat! The heart and spirit behind Marianna’s Flower Island!

This little Burlington flower shop first opened its doors in 1977, built on passion and love by its original owner Marianna. Decades later it’s story took an unexpected turn…

After one (very) fun night in 2020 🍸, Cat said yes to something a little bigger than just another drink… she said yes to carrying on Marianna’s legacy in business.

What started as a spontaneous decision has grown into a deep love for the industry, the Burlington community, her team of designers, and for every single arrangement that leaves through the front door with her stamp of approval.

Today our fearless leader —full of energy, ideas, creativity and kindness— is helping the shop bloom into its next chapter. 👏
