Meet Miss Vanessa, Studio Owner & Director #2!
“I have a vision. Just go with this for a second...” If you’ve spent any time with Miss Vanessa, you already know exactly where this is going. There’s an idea. She can see it perfectly in her head. Now everyone else just needs to help figure out how to make it happen in real life.
Vanessa describes herself as adventurous, busy and curious, and admits she is very easily distracted by a good idea. She also says she has a hard time not caring. She cares about a lot of things, asks a lot of questions, and is always up for a completely unnecessary deep dive into whatever has suddenly caught her attention.
In the studio, her teaching style is patient, intentional and collaborative. She grew up a dancer who loved ballet to her absolute core, and still loves teaching balancés, but her favourite moments are the aha! moments. The ones where something clicks, confidence grows, or a dancer gets so excited about what they're doing that they can barely contain it!
Outside the studio, Vanessa can usually be found teaching Grade 5 or chauffeuring her kids between soccer, dance and everything else. Her essentials include slippers, a cozy hoodie, her computer and... very importantly: tea. London Fog before lunch. Chai after. There are rules.
She loves big, drooly dogs, Ted Lasso, cotton-candy skies and warm tea. Her dream day involves sunshine, fresh fruit, floating in a tropical ocean with sea turtles nearby and smelling like sunscreen. Her more realistic dream day? Cozy clothes, staying home and not opening her computer.
And if you ever hear Vanessa repeat something she wants to happen several times in quick succession... pay attention. She really means it. (lol)
