You request it, we will create it. One of our clients requested a simple custom mount for his 2025 whitetail. He loved the product and asked for a matching mount for his 2026 bull elk.

Beetles cleaned this stud of a whittail up nice. They do not discriminate. They will crush anything we give them.

Degreasing Skulls — An Often Overlooked Step 🦌

Proper degreasing is critical to producing a clean, bright, long-lasting European mount.

The amount of time required varies by species and individual animal. Bears, for example, typically require much more degreasing than deer, while older animals can also require additional time due to increased grease within the bone.

We use warm, highly concentrated soapy water at approximately 40–50°C to draw grease and oils from the porous bone. Proper degreasing allows the peroxide whitening process to work more effectively and helps prevent yellowing or discoloration over time.

Patience matters — and fresh solution matters. We change the degreasing water regularly and monitor each skull individually until it’s ready for whitening.

A great European mount starts with proper preparation

A customer came in with a moose skull previously done by a registered taxidermist. The product was poor and our client was unhappy with the work he had paid for from said taxidermist. After observing the work completed originally it was clear crucial steps were missed. After some excessive degreasing we soaked it in our peroxide and we were able to get this skull back to a quality product.
