It was a beautiful summer afternoon on August 10, 2024, when Priya took the stage for her Arangetram at the Engineered Air Theatre at the Arts Commons in Calgary. This day marked the culmination of ten years of dedication, hard work and commitment leading up to this special moment.
Priya presented her Arangetram margam with all the traditional dances that she chose as her favourites, and it showed. She started her arangetram practice over a year ago & slowly but surely gained a deep understanding & appreciation for each of her dances. Priya exuded maturity that showcased her technique & storytelling with her footwork, mudras & abhinaya.
Our live orchestra perfectly complemented Priya's dance, creating a harmonious blend that elevated the entire experience. The talented ensemble featured Smt. Mahalakshmi Narasimhan on vocal, Sri. Mukund Shankar Krishnan on Violin, Sri. Adhitya Narayan on the Mridangam and Guru Smt. Mridul Burgi on the Nattuvangam
We were honoured to have along with us Eileen Dharshana Marikar, who shared words of wisdom. Her perspective on setting goals, working hard & having the confidence was encouraging not just for Priya but for all who attended.
Arangetrams are not only a celebration of individual accomplishment but also serve as a source of inspiration and a promise for nurturing the next generation of artists. They reflect the dedication and hard work of the dancer, the parents, the Laasya family, the larger community for which we are soo very grateful. It is incredibly rewarding to see our senior students like Priya, Harsh*tha, Meghana & Ranudi not only reach these significant milestones but also become role models for younger dancers
Our heartfelt thanks to the Atkins, Laasya family & all the volunteers who continue to support and promote this beautiful art form. Congratulations to Priya on her remarkable achievement and best wishes for success and joy in the next chapter of her journey!

What a joy it was to witness Harsh*tha's Arangetram! It was a culmination of 11 years of dedication and passion - Laasya proudly celebrated its 3rd Arangetram on 18 May 2024 at the Bert Church Theatre in Airdrie.
Harsh*tha presented her Arangetram with traditional dances that reflected her deep understanding & appreciation for this beautiful art form. We are soo proud of how she has blossomed into not only a talented dancer but also a committed student teacher at Laasya.
We were honoured to have along with us Guru Malavika Venkatsubbiah from Natyam Dance Academy and Manjula Ganesh who graced the stage as the Chief Guests, who was all praise of Harsh*tha & her accomplishments.
The incredible music ensemble, comprising of Smt. Mahalakshmi Narasimhan on vocal, Sri. Mukund Shankar Krishnan on Violin, Sri. Adhitya Narayan on the Mridangam and our Guru Smt. Mridul Burgi on the Nattuvangam truly elevated the performance and left the audience spellbound.
“It takes a village to raise an artist” it was soo heartwarming to see the Laasya family, along with friends, volunteer to making this event such a beautiful memory.
A special thank you to Shubha & Sanker for keeping Harsh*tha motivated & committed through the years and supporting her through out her dance journey.
Congratulations Harsh*tha on this remarkable milestone. This is just the beginning, we look forward to many more successful milestones in your dance journey ahead!
