Well, the season is well and truly over now, and it's time to (a little belatedly!) celebrate our graduating athletes! 🎓

To Finlay, Poppy, Lily, Autumn, Lily Rose, Lincoln and Gabby - thanks for being a part of the Canmore Nordic community for so many years! From early Jackrabbits and Track Attack years, to big race weekends, camps, coaching Jackrabbits, travelling to Nationals, and constant hours supporting your teammates, you've all helped shape our club and leave an impact on everyone who has trained and raced alongside you.

Congratulations to the Class of 2026 athletes, we can't wait to see where your next adventures take you! 💙❤️

We’re excited to welcome Tim to the Canmore Nordic coaching team!

Originally from Vermont, Tim grew up cross-country skiing and racing before discovering biathlon at 13 and never looking back. After spending a year at a sports school in Norway, he went on to study Kinesiology and Coaching at Montana State University while racing for the Crosscut Elite Biathlon Team and helping coach junior athletes.

Most recently, he raced with Vermont’s Green Racing Project while continuing to coach developing athletes. Along the way, he’s represented the US at Junior Worlds, the University Games, and races across Europe.

We’re thrilled to have him join the team and can’t wait for our athletes to learn from his experience and energy. Welcome to Canmore, Tim!

Across four fun sessions, kids will be introduced to:
• Rifle safety & marksmanship fundamentals
• Running and dryland training games
• Skill development in a safe, supportive environment

Congratulations to our Volunteers of the Year!

A big shout out to Kimberley Anderson and Simon Robins, who were awarded the Volunteer of the Year trophy at this week’s AGM!

Kimberley serves on the Board as the biathlon rep and puts in countless hours volunteering at biathlon races - especially in the race office at Biathlon Nationals this year. Simon was Chief of Course throughout Alberta Cup 1 & 2 and Westerns, starting before sunrise each day to make sure everything was in top shape for racing. Thank you both for your incredible dedication, positivity, and the many hours you give to the club!

Snow, wind, cold, and mornings so early that coffee barely works... It’s National Volunteer Week and we’re giving a big shoutout to the absolute legends behind the Canmore Nordic Ski Club. Countless hours out on the course, strapping on zone4 chips, checking off names, bringing snacks, testing skis, wrangling kids, staring at the biathlon range - you keep this whole thing gliding (literally).
