WORKSHOP UPDATE — NEW DATE & MORE CHOICE!

Saturday, October 17 – Chilliwack

You can now choose to create either a SITTING or STANDING figure! Make a traditional figure, dancer, witch, wizard — or bring your own idea to life.
This is a great beginner project — no experience necessary! You’ll create an approximately 14" (35 cm) sculpture using wire, tinfoil, fabric and Paverpol.

Come see me Saturday, Sept. 26 at the Witchy Boo storefront in District 1881, Chilliwack. I’ll be demonstrating fabric sculpture, answering questions, and you can sign up for the October 17 workshop while you’re there!

WOW — over 16 years ago! ❤️

This was my very first figure workshop in January 2010, after meeting the amazing Annet Holierhoek a few months earlier. Later that year, I became a Certified Paverpol Instructor and started teaching my first workshops — with family and friends as my willing students!
It’s wonderful looking back and seeing where this creative journey began.
Now I finally have more time to focus on my art, and there are some exciting things coming in the next year that I can’t wait to share!
In the meantime, I’ll be busy teaching workshops, attending markets and creating new pieces.
Here’s to the next chapter of Fabric Art Rocks!

Confirmed the time I will be set up for the Pop up on Saturday Sept 26. I will be there from 10-4. Like mentioned previously I will be demoing and showcasing some of the Paverpol techniques as well as a few items for sale. You can even sign up for one of the upcoming workshops. See you there

The pictured witch sculpture is one I made over 15 years ago! You can join us in making your own Halloween sculpture or choose a more traditional one. In the past I have had a student make a headless figure... your imagination can be unlimited. Email me or PM if interested in signing up. I only have space for 6 people so save your spot!

I have been invited to have a pop up at the District 1881 area of Chilliwack on Sept 26. Since I will be demoing live with Paverpol I thought I would try out this company for printed aprons. Can't be more pleased. Stay tuned for the details of the pop up!

I've often been asked where the name “Fabric Art Rocks” came from?
Back in the beginning, my work looked quite different! I created faces from clay and incorporated them into rocks, using hardened fabric to create the backgrounds and details. I even spent time searching for just the right rocks to use.
It didn’t take long to discover one small problem… rocks are HEAVY! 😄
So, I gradually transitioned to using more driftwood and began exploring all the different ways I could sculpt with fabric.
Here are a few examples of some of my early pieces from 2010–2012 — a little look back at where it all started.

These days, Fabric Art Rocks has a slightly different meaning…
It’s less about the rocks and more about ROCKIN’ IT with fabric!
