A special thank you to the Cornwall Lions Club Committee for hosting an event that celebrates the spirit of sport in our community. A HUGE congratulations to our Skater of the Year, Mia Cummings! 🦁⛸

SKATE SEAWAY SKATER OF THE YEAR
This year’s Figure Skater of the Year is an athlete who has shown resilience, dedication, and determination throughout the season.

Mia has become an important part of our club, balancing her own skating development while generously supporting younger skaters as they build confidence and skills on the ice. She leads by example through her work ethic, perseverance, and positive attitude.

Her hard work earned strong results this season, including both silver and bronze medal finishes in competition. One of her most impressive moments came at the Brockville Invitational, where she captured a bronze medal despite limited preparation time and only a brief warm-up before competing.

Throughout the year, Mia continued to grow both technically and personally as an athlete, demonstrating commitment every time she stepped onto the ice.

We are also incredibly grateful for her contributions as a Program Assistant. Her reliability, kindness, and encouragement have made a meaningful impact within our CanSkate program, and we look forward to seeing her continue her journey in the sport, possibly even as a future coach.

Skate Seaway is proud to recognize Mia Cummings as our Figure Skater of the Year.

Congratulations, Mia! Today and every day, we are proud of you.

It was a wonderful evening at the 59th Annual Cornwall Lions Club Sports Awards. A HUGE congratulations to our Volunteer of the Year, Élise Boileau! 🦁⛸

SKATE SEAWAY VOLUNTEER OF THE YEAR
As we all know, community skating programs rely heavily on dedicated volunteers to help support and strengthen everything we do. Our nationally recognized and award-winning CanSkate program depends on Program Assistants to support coaches, encourage young skaters, and help build confidence as they learn the fundamentals of skating.

Although new to Skate Seaway this season, Élise quickly became an exceptional part of our program. She has demonstrated outstanding commitment through her consistent attendance, positive attitude, and dedication to the high standards of Skate Canada.

Élise is a true role model within our skating community. She consistently puts the needs of younger skaters first, offering enthusiastic encouragement, strong skill demonstration, and hands-on support to help them succeed on the ice.

At the same time, she continues to apply that same dedication to her own skating, showing strong focus in training while achieving excellent results during high assessment days and competitions.

We are excited to see Élise continue growing within Skate Seaway and further strengthen her role in our skating community.

Skate Seaway is incredibly proud to recognize Élise Boileau as our Volunteer of the Year.

Congratulations, Élise! Today and every day, we are proud of you.

Skate Canada recognizes the achievements of skaters who have successfully attained Gold Assessment Status in one of its four figure skating disciplines—Freeskate, Skills, Dance, or Artistic. A Certificate of Achievement and Gold Pin are awarded by our Section, Skate Ontario, through the skater’s home club.

Congratulations to Skate Seaway’s Alessia MacDonald, who this year achieved her GOLD status in DANCE.

Alessia, we applaud your effort, perseverance, and years of dedication to your sport. This is an incredible accomplishment and a true reflection of your hard work and passion. 👏
