The Cornwall Girls Hockey Association has been made aware of fraudulent emails being circulated that appear to come from members of our Executive, particularly President Mike Turcotte.

These emails are scams and are not legitimate communications from the CGHA. Scammers often impersonate organization leaders in an attempt to obtain money, gift cards, personal information, or other sensitive details.

🔍 How to spot a scam email:
• The sender's email address does not match an official CGHA email address.
• The message creates a sense of urgency or asks you to act immediately.
• Requests for gift cards, e-transfers, passwords, or personal information.
• Unusual wording, grammar mistakes, or communication that seems out of character.
• Requests to keep the communication confidential.

✅ What to do:
• Verify any unusual request by contacting the individual directly through a known phone number or email address.
• Report suspicious emails as spam/phishing.
• Delete the message if you believe it is fraudulent.

❌ What NOT to do:
• Do not reply to the email.
• Do not click on links or open attachments.
• Do not provide personal information, passwords, or financial information.
• Do not purchase gift cards or send money in response to these messages.

If you receive a suspicious email claiming to be from a CGHA Executive member, please exercise caution and verify its authenticity before taking any action.
