Dear HHMVL Members,

It is with deep sadness and very heavy hearts that we share an unexpected update. On Tuesday October 21st Mario Galvao, one of our longtime league referees and a familiar face within the Halton Hills Mixed Volleyball League community tragically passed away.

Mario was a staple of HHMVL for many years and was a valued referee, coach and player throughout the broader volleyball community. His dedication to the game and the time he devoted to our league made him a familiar and important part of our volleyball family. I know I echo your sentiments when I say his presence on the courts will be deeply missed by the many members, players, scorekeepers and fellow referees who had the privilege of knowing him.

On behalf of the HHMVL Executive Board, we extend our heartfelt condolences to Mario's family and loved ones during this incredibly difficult time. Our thoughts are with them as they navigate this tremendous loss.

This year, HHMVL is expanding to TWO GYMS — GDHS & CTK — giving even more teams the opportunity to compete!

This year, HHMVL is proud to join forces with Liam’s Mission for their annual toy drive! ❤️

We’re asking our amazing members to help us spread some holiday cheer by bringing a NEW, UNWRAPPED GIFT to the November 28th Fall Tournament.

🎁 Drop boxes will be available at both tournament gyms throughout the day, giving everyone the opportunity to drop off a gift.

All donations will help bring some extra joy to children at local hospitals this holiday season. ❤️

👉 Pick-Up Card: Tap once and purchase a 12-session Pick-Up Card — then you’re all set for 12 nights of volleyball! 🏐

🏐 HHMVL TEAM CAPTAINS — SEASON OPENER REMINDER! 🏐

The HHMVL season opener is just around the corner! As we get ready to kick off another exciting season, we want to remind all team captains to please ensure that your team roster meets the league requirements.

📋 ROSTER REQUIREMENT
All teams must have a minimum of 8 players rostered on their team.

⚠️ IMPORTANT DEADLINES
If your team does not meet the minimum roster requirement by the following deadlines, your team will forfeit its game during opening week:

🔹 Tuesday Teams: Roster requirement must be met by Monday, September 28th
🔹 Wednesday Teams: Roster requirement must be met by Tuesday, September 29th

Please take some time to check your team's roster and make sure all of your players have completed their registration. Don't wait until the last minute — get your team rostered!

📅 SCHEDULE UPDATE
The Tuesday night schedule has officially been launched and is now available on the HHMVL website.

The Wednesday night schedule will be posted no later than Thursday, September 24th.

We’re getting closer to game time, and we can’t wait to see everyone back on the courts! 🏐🔥
