Meet our Instructors
Here is our Beautiful and Talented Sharon
We have had such great feedback from our members about her early morning registered classes. Here is a bit of information about her to help us get to know her better
1.How did you learn about Pilates?
I was first introduced to Pilates at Adventure Physio, I started attending private classes with Lindsay to get my body functioning properly…. I was hooked
2. What was your first impression in your first class?
I loved it!!! I didn’t realize how intricate Pilates was and how little movements make big changes when engaged properly.
3. What made you fall in love with this exercise?
I love the continuous growth and challenge. I loved how it changed my body, I gained more flexibility, strength and was finally gaining core stability after kids. Pilates is low impact and can be adjusted to suit anyone, I can continue to grow and practice well into my old age, and that’s the best part!
4. What made you want to teach this other people?
I love Pilates and people. I wanted to share my love of exercise with others and watch them achieve goals. I get so excited to see others grow stronger and accomplish exercises that were once challenging for them. it’s the best!
5. What is your favorite exercise?
That’s a hard question… but I would say a tie between the teaser and long spine.
6. What is your favorite piece of equipment
Reformer, the things you can do are endless!
7. Your favorite thing to do in your free time?
Spend time with family and friends, hitting the slopes, and taking adventures with my husband.
8. What is your favorite color?
Purple 😃
9. What type of music do you like?
Music is my absolute favourite, I love all types.
10. What is your advice to a person who is coming to their first class?
Don’t be intimidated or nervous, classes are small and the clients are kind. You will have the best time.
11. What is going to be your next destination holidays
Anywhere I can have sand between my toes.
12. Why should people come to your classes specifically? If you’re looking for a good morning “wake me up” and a body 🔥 I’m your girl.

We were so surprised to learn that we were NOMINATED for the Grande Prairie Chamber of Commerce Awards of Distinction. We are beyond humbled by this nomination and we are so grateful for all of the support we have gotten, since we opened as well as during the pandemic.
We feel lucky to wake up everyday and do something we love to help improve health and fitness in the community. Pilates has changed our lives personally and we hope that within our studio and small classes that it can feel like a second home to our members.
Thank you so much to the Chamber and to the larger community surrounding our studio!

With the current provincial restrictions, our studio will have some new changes coming up for Monday September 20th 2021. As a locally owned and operated small business we are trying to weather the storm and provide safety and wellness with our fitness classes. We want to thank all of our members and new participants for allowing us to stay open and continue to do what we love.
As of Monday Sept 20th we will be implementing the “Restrictions Exemption Program” as well as offering one on one training to all of our members.
What does this mean? We can continue to run our small group classes if we ensure that all participants show proof of vaccination or a negative test result in the past 72 hours of attending class.
Accepted proof of vaccination includes a single dose until October 25 if the dose is received 2 weeks before time of entering our studio. Double doses are required after October 25.
We can accept this proof of vaccination in person when you come to class or you can email or send a picture via text message prior to class. We will than mark you on our booking list and you will no longer need to show us that proof.
We will also ask you to continue to come to class with a mask on and than it is up to your discretion if you wish to keep it on for the class or remove it while you are distanced from others in the class.
If you have a medical exemption, we need proof of your letter to add you to our booking list.
If you do not wish to provide proof of vaccination, the best option for the time being is booking a private session with one of our instructors which is a great way to get the most out of your pilates session.
We hope that with these temporary measures we can do our part and reduce risk in the community as well as keep our love for pilates alive. We so appreciate every one of your messages and support for our business.

NEW CLASS ALERT
We would like to offer a 6am, 45 minute, 6 week registered beginner matwork class. This is perfect for a "before work, feel great, start to the day". This class will start in October and we are looking for interest for the class and to nail down a day of the week that might be best. Cost for the session will be $120 plus GST.
Matwork is the essence of pilates. Small 4 person classes are the best way to experience pilates so you know that you can get the most out of your class and feel so much stronger and more flexible at the end of every class. This class will teach you the basic principles to enjoy any of our classes after you graduate from this class series. Please send us a DM, inbox message or email to [email protected] to express interest.
Long weekend moments without my children for my first workout in much much much too long. Just because you have access to so much equipment does not mean that business owners have the time or energy to workout. The sun shining gave me energy and I did a few reps and made my legs feel something. Enjoy the long weekend and I hope you all get a bit of energy too.
Hope everyone is enjoying this beautiful weekend! We are excited for our first full week back in the studio, can't wait to see everyone and kick some butts!! to register for classes or check out the schedule just click here https://www.pilatesbarregp.com/schedule Also anyone interested in trying Pilates and new to the studio here's a sneak peak of the studio , please feel free to contact us at 780-882-4238 about some of our specials on intro packages! 🎥white lightning media
