With power returned and after working into the night to get the ice back in working condition we now have a live electrical wire down on Kelly Lake Rd right by our entrance!

Police and fire are blocking/directing traffic, hydro crews are on the way.

Although we have power, our ice needs time to recover. We're working our hardest to rebuild the ice, but unfortunately the rink won't be operational by tomorrow morning.

Classes scheduled from 8-12 are cancelled. Refunds or Credits are available. (Our facility is open, just not the rink)

At best, we hope to welcome skaters back on the ice for noon. We will send out another update at 10am tomorrow.

POWER OUTAGE UPDATE

Unfortunately, the power outage is still ongoing.

We will be closed all day tomorrow, Wednesday, September 2.

Power Outage Update ⚡️🏒

Well… this one is a doozy.

We’ve now been without power for almost 24 hours after a transformer in our neighbourhood blew last night. The Hydro crews have been working non-stop to get things back up and running, and we genuinely want to give them a huge THANK YOU for all the work they’ve been putting in.

Unfortunately, the repair ended up being more involved than expected. Crews needed to tear up part of the lot near Verdiccio’s to Kelly Lake to properly access and fix the problem, which has unfortunately pushed the timeline back.

The current hope: we get power back around midnight tonight. Once power is restored, our ice chiller needs approximately 6 hours to boot back up and get the ice freezing again. If everything goes according to plan, we’re hoping to be back in business by mid-to-late morning tomorrow. 🤞

That means several clinics, classes, private lessons and rentals have had to be cancelled today, and there’s a good chance some will be affected tomorrow as well. To all in the Season Prep Clinic, check your emails in the morning before heading over for an update, but certainly at least the 8am, 9am, and maybe 10am sessions are in serious jeopardy.

To everyone impacted: we’ve got you. We’ll work with each of you individually to reschedule, credit, or refund — whatever works best for you. Just let us figure out how long things will be affected. Our phone system requires electricity as well, so apologies for not answering your calls today, we are trying to stay on top of emails and messages on socials.

Because when something completely outside everyone’s control goes sideways, the least we can do is make the customer-service part easy. 😉 We’re going to do the right thing, imagine that!
