Matias Torres Ibañez Signs with Toronto FC Academy U14
London TFC is proud to celebrate Matias Torres Ibañez as he takes the next step in his soccer journey, joining Toronto FC Academy U14. 🔴⚽️
Matias has spent the past two years with London TFC, describing his experience with the club as “incredible” and saying it has been a great experience for his life.
One of his favourite memories came during the team’s trip to Portugal, where he had the opportunity to train alongside his teammates.
“My favourite experience was Portugal. It was a great experience training there with my teammates.”
For Matias, joining Toronto FC Academy has been a goal he has thought about every time he stepped onto the field.
“I felt really good because every time I step on a soccer field I was thinking about making it to Toronto.”
As excited as he is for this next chapter, Matias knows there are things he will miss about London TFC.
“Of course I’m going to miss my London TFC teammates and community.”
Looking ahead, Matias has a clear goal for himself — to keep improving every day, both on and off the field.
“My goals are to be 1% better every single day, grow up as a soccer player and as a person.”
Matias also wanted to recognize the people who have supported him throughout his time with London TFC:
“I’d like to say thank you to my coaches and the community for always being kind and supportive.”
And to his teammates, Matias shared:
“I want to say that I’m going to miss them. Without them, this wouldn’t have been as fun and memorable.”
As Matias begins this exciting new chapter with Toronto FC Academy U14, London TFC is proud to have been part of his journey.
Congratulations, Matias! We wish you continued success as you take this next step. ❤️⚽️
