💃 If ballet had a personality, “Tarantella” would definitely be the most playful and spirited one.

The moment the Italian folk music starts, the skirts begin to spin, and suddenly, the whole stage comes alive. ✨

This ballet group piece earned three 1st-place finishes during the 2026 competition season, and also took 3rd Place Overall Small Group – Junior at Bedazzled. 🏆

But “Tarantella” didn’t stop at the competition stage.

From Yi Dance’s 2026 annual production, Alice in Wonderland, to the City of Toronto-supported summer community event “I Have a Dream,” this piece brought its energy, joy, and passion to even more audiences. 💛

Competitions end.
The music fades.
But what remains is the laughter and joy shared by a group of dancers. ✨

❄️ Ballet Group Dance “Snow” 🩰

As the weather in Toronto starts to cool, our Yi Dance dancers had already brought winter to the stage. ❄️✨

During the 2026 competition season, “Snow” competed at three competitions, earning six Top 3 placements across both group and overall categories. 🏆

A group of dancers.
One piece.
One shared breath.

Every falling snowflake on stage was created through their connection, timing, and trust in one another. ✨

The weather may be getting colder, but these dancers continue to shine on stage. 🤍🩰

Three dancers. Three “strings.” 🎻
Together, they created a melody that could only belong to ballet dancers. 🩰✨

During the 2026 competition season, this piece earned 1st and 2nd place finishes across three competitions. 🏆

But its journey didn’t end on the competition stage.

An adapted version of “Strings” was also featured in Yi Dance’s 2026 annual production, Alice in Wonderland. ✨

From the competition floor to a world of fantasy, Strings found a whole new life — and a new way to tell its story.

This summer, our Yi Dance students were honoured to be invited to perform at SAFSS’s “I Have a Dream” Community Performance on July 22. 💛

Supported by the City of Toronto, the event brought our young dancers together with the community through the joy and power of dance. After the performance, each dancer received a certificate to celebrate their participation. 📜✨

Looking back, this was more than just a summer performance. It was a meaningful experience where our dancers stepped onto a bigger stage, connected with their community, and shared a little more kindness through dance. 💛

The new dance season has begun, but we still remember those bright smiles on stage. ✨

At Yi Dance, we believe that every child who loves to dance deserves a stage that takes them further and inspires them to dream bigger. 🩰
