Recently released water quality report for səlilwət (Burrard Inlet) identifies contaminant hotspots, revealing the extent of pollution from sewage overflows, urban stormwater runoff, and industrial discharges in the area.

Through a series of heat maps, the report highlights the need for continued stewardship and collaborative action to restore and protect the water quality of səlilwət (Burrard Inlet).

In collaboration with Metro Vancouver, səlilwətaɬ (Tsleil-Waututh Nation) is developing a long-term park management plan for the Admiralty Heights subarea within təmtəmíxʷtən / Belcarra Regional Park, a culturally significant landscape that supports sensitive ecosystems, diverse wildlife, and deep connections for our community.

Please be advised that due to a səlilwətaɬ funeral procession, the portion of Dollarton Hwy between Raven Woods Dr. & Ellis St. will be temporarily closed for about 45 minutes between 10:00 am - 12:30 pm on Saturday, July 18.

We are pleased to announce that Tsleil-Waututh Nation's Reserve Shoreline Adaptation and Restoration Project has won an Indigenous Project Award at the EMA of BC - Environmental Managers Association of BC Awards Gala alongside organizations dedicated to advancing sustainable practices.

This recognition reflects the important role that the Nation plays in restoring ecological health through nature-based shoreline protection and stabilization, native plant revegetation, and Indigenous stewardship. Alongside our partners, we strengthened reserve shoreline protections against coastal erosion and flooding to prevent further loss of community lands and damage to archaeological sites and community infrastructure, and created new forest garden, coastal dune grass and salt marsh habitat.

Tsleil-Waututh Member Peggy Williams shared that attending a FIFA World Cup 2026™ match has been a once-in-a-lifetime experience. She enjoyed cheering for teams from around the world alongside their fans. Connecting with people is what it is all about. Peggy has also been one of our səlilwətaɬ Ambassadors at the Tsleil-Waututh coastal village site at FIFA Fan Fest. For her, some highlights from Fan Fest include meeting people and sharing about Tsleil-Waututh culture, talking to kids who are now learning about Indigenous communities in school, and hearing from visitors who appreciate learning more about our Nation. There is still a lot more of the FIFA World Cup left to explore!
