WE ARE HIRING! Farm Hand - Horse farm (Part time position)
We are a horse farm looking for a reliable, hard working farm hand to join our routine. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys physical work, being outdoors in all weather an working around horses in a calm, respectful environment.
Responsibilities include, but no limited to:
Mucking stalls and maintaining clean, safe barn conditions
Feed horses and turning in/out
Preparing feed
Blanketing
Filling hay nets, water buckets, and basic barn upkeep
Basic horse handling
Requirements:
Equine experience and horse handling is a must
Must be comfortable with some heavy lifting, push wheelbarrow, and work with tools such as much forks, shovels and brooms
Horse health awareness - ability to recognize signs of illness or distress, monitoring appetite and water intake, noticing changes in behaviour, recognize potential health/safety issues, understanding when to report immediately
Reliable transportation
Strong time management, attention to detail, excellent oral communication, team player, ability to work alone
Understanding basic barn etiquette
