Making memories at the Queen City Ex is part of Turning Up the Fun.

Each night we want to make sure you get home safe and sound so you can come back the next day to ride the Zipper and grab a deep-fried butter tart!

During the 2026 Queen City Ex, your QCX admission pass gets you a free ride on City Transit.

Just show your pass to the driver when boarding and enjoy a complimentary and convenient ride to and from the fair!

Make the smart choice, don’t drink and drive.

Today we celebrate the life of Barry Tappin.

Barry passed away on July 15.

He was a familiar face around REAL District and if you ever attended the Family Day Pancake Breakfast on the Sunday of Queen City Ex, no doubt you saw him – usually with a clip board in hand, guiding other volunteers and guests on what was usually a very busy morning.

Greg "Scooter" Korek knew Barry well and shared these words:

Barry was never in the fair business for recognition, headlines or applause.
He volunteered because he knew he could make a difference.
He wanted to help.
He wanted to preserve tradition.
He wanted to spend time with good people, make lifelong friends, and share a few laughs along the way.
He cared deeply about his fair.
He cared deeply about his community.
And in doing so, Barry Tappin showed all of us what it truly means to be a great Canadian and an extraordinary citizen.
God bless you, Barry.
