Class Description
This class will use the principles of Bartenieff Fundamentals to tune in to our bodies, release tension, and find new patterns of movement. For this series we will explore how the underlying concepts of Bartenieff Fundamentals support the three dimensional movement of Rudolph Laban's Harmonic Scales. This class will be done primarily lying on a mat with movement that is slow and gentle and ends in standing to integrate and prepare our minds and bodies to move throughout the day. Leave this class feeling grounded, renewed, and refreshed.

UPCOMING SOMASPHERES CLASS!
SOMA #1: Continuum: The Art of Being Fluid with Linda Rabin
Days: Saturday, June 6th - Monday, June 8th
Location: New Dance Horizons (2207 Harvey St.)
Times: 10:00 AM - 1:00 PM & 2:30 PM - 4:30 PM
Cost: $400 - Full Workshop
Drop-in Options:
$60 - Saturday intro Class 10:00 AM - 1:00 PM
$150 - Full Saturday
$275 - Full Saturday & Sunday
Class Description
Continuum is a somatic inquiry into the nature of fluids. We are the movement of water on land. At the most intrinsic level of our being, like the ocean, we undulate, pulsate, arc and spiral. When we slow down and pay attention to these biological movements, they teach us about the art of being - in the body, in the moment, in life.
In this workshop we will explore a variety of breaths and vocalized sounds that stimulate the fluid system; engage in a fluid range of non-patterned movement from a micro to macro level and in different relationships to gravity; and with our presence, silently attend to the sensations and movements that emerge. Continuum is an approach that can enhance and bring new perspectives to our personal and professional practice. It can increase our capacity for easeful movement, awaken sensuality, spark our creativity and invigorate our overall health and well-being.
Please note that there are limited spots, so be sure to register in advance!
