AIR QUALITY ANNOUNCEMENT

Due to the ongoing wildfire activity across Ontario, air quality continues to be a concern for outdoor sporting activities. Softball Ontario encourages all leagues, associations, teams, and tournament hosts to use caution when planning or participating in outdoor games, practices, and training sessions.

We recommend monitoring Environment Canada's Air Quality Health Index and using it to help guide decisions regarding scheduling and outdoor activities, with the health and safety of players, coaches, officials, volunteers, and spectators remaining the top priority.

TEAM ONTARIO TRYOUTS & IDENTIFICATION CAMP REGISTRATION

Softball athletes across Ontario have the opportunity to take the next step in their development through upcoming Team Ontario programs.

Team Ontario Women's Open Tryouts are open to athletes born in 2010, 2011, 2012, and 2013.

Available tryout locations include:

• August 8–9 – Lindsay
• August 15–16 – Windsor
• August 22–23 – Cobourg

The August 29–30 Cambridge tryout is sold out.

Registration fee: $200

Team Ontario Men's Softball Identification Camp registration is also available for athletes born in 2009 or later who are interested in pursuing future Team Ontario opportunities and the pathway to the 2029 Canada Games in New Brunswick.

• July 11, 2026 (Rain Date: July 12)
• Keterson Park, Mitchell, Ontario
• 10:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.
• $75 per athlete

This June, Softball Ontario recognizes National Indigenous History Month and honours the rich cultures, histories, and contributions of First Nations, Inuit, and Métis Peoples across Canada.

Indigenous athletes, coaches, officials, volunteers, and community leaders play an important role in growing and strengthening the game of softball across Ontario. We celebrate their contributions and encourage our community to continue learning, listening, and building meaningful relationships through sport.
