Candle Lake Golf Resort in Northern Saskatchewan is annually ranked by the SaskGolfer Community as “One of the Top Stay & Play Destinations in Saskatchewan”. 1. ⛳️ Golf course conditions. We highly respect a well groomed golf course. Green conditions are consistent and reward well struck shots. We very rarely comment on tee boxes in our SaskGolfer Course Reviews, but can’t resist pumping up the smooth, perfectly groomed tee boxes. Some of the largest tee boxes in the province, with multiple tee options for all levels of golfers. The maintenance of the bunkers, specifically the edging of them, is incredible. 2. 🏠 Accommodation options. We visit every year and do all we can to secure one of the hotel rooms which couldn’t be more convenient. Just steps away from the 1st tee and 18th green, not to mention a spectacular view of the lake, the rooms are an ideal size, clean and well priced. Stay & Play Package for 2 for $399 / person, including up to 3 rounds. So good.

3. 🚤 Water sports and marina. Multiple rentals available for your group, including Pontoon Boats, which were in and out of the marina non stop during our stay. Very popular.

4. 🍝 Dining. Some of the best golf course dining in Saskatchewan. Fish & Chips is well portioned and the famous Rumberger fully satisfies.

5. Leagues, Events and Tournaments. League play is strong, with 70 golfers attending both Ladies and Men’s nights every week. And more golfers = more prizing and bigger sponsor support. Love it! Also during our stay, Reception TruNorth was on site providing test rides for all types of water adventures. Nice touch.

Congratulations to Saskatchewan’s Drayjon Sparvier Drayjon Sparvier on earning a spot in the prestigious Mickelson National Invitational 2026 Mickelson National Invitational being played in Calgary July 2-4. Monday Qualifying with a 71, Drayjon is another inspirational golfer in Saskatchewan proving that hard work and dedication to the game of golf pays off. We hit the highway on Saturday, June 20 to visit the Elk Ridge Resort Elk Ridge Resort in Northern Saskatchewan and the day trip could not have been any better. The highlights of the 220 km day trip from Saskatoon to Waskesiu were countless, including;

🏌️‍♂️ Course conditions in 2026 are currently some of the finest in all of Saskatchewan. Greens are lush, rolling smooth and true.

💰Value. Adult green fee rates of $85, including tax and driving range use. Amazing.

🏆 We participated in the Elk & Iron Pairings Cup and the overall value including 18 holes with cart, Callaway Golf tee gifts, CP and LD prizing, amazing dinner and prizing was bang on. We might be a little biased as we won a $250 Elk Ridge Resort logo’d travel bag. Yano dropped a 15 footer on our last hole for the clutch finish.

🫎 You’re absolutely guaranteed to see some Northern Saskatchewan wildlife. We were lucky to have seen a big momma bear hanging around the entrance to the Prince Albert National Park.

🍝 Dining at Wyld at the Elk Ridge Resort, specifically the Bison Lasagna, is incredible and well portioned. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

We spoke to the Bryson family, who are some of the managing partners, and they are anticipating a very successful 2026 golf season. Inspiring all of Saskatchewan’s junior golfers and the entire Saskatchewan golfing community, Ryan Mosher of Saskatoon is having an outstanding 2026 golf season. Securing the Golf Canada NextGen Western Championship on June 6 and then the NextGen Prairie Championship on June 21, Mosher Ryan Mosher has now captured three major Golf Canada Championships in the last three years.
