GOLF ETIQUETTE
Golf etiquette exists to keep the game safe, fair, and enjoyable for everyone sharing the course.
Unlike many other sports, golf is largely self-policing; there is usually no referee watching every shot, meaning players must rely on a shared code of conduct to manage the space and respect one another.
BEFORE THE ROUND
Arrive.30 minutes before T-time
Check in and report you T-time
ON THE TEE BOX
Hit from behind the markers
At the Tee Box, be quiet while others hit
Be sure the fairway is clear for your drive distance
ON THE FAIRWAY
Be aware of players in front of you
Yell “FORE” if needed to warn other in ball path
Repair your divots
Limit practice swings and ball searches
ON THE GREENS
Repair you pitch marks (learn how to do it properly)
Be careful not to damage the surface of the greens
Furthest putts first
Do not walk on other players’ putting line
AT ALL TIMES
Be considerate toward other players
Keep golf carts at least 30 feet away from greens
Be respectful of your golf cart
Keep up with the group in front of you
Let faster players play through
Rake bunkers and place rake in bunkers
Be respectful of the course and staff
Use common sense
