WHY WE SUPERSET DUMBBELL BENCH + FLYES πŸ’ͺ

Most women finish their pressing and leave gains on the table β€” here’s how we fix that

Last night in class we hit a squat-focused full body session. After squats came the pressing β€” and we didn’t just do one exercise. We paired two together on purpose.

1. A1 β€” DUMBBELL FLAT BENCH PRESS x 8
This is your primary strength move. Power, load, and tension through the chest and shoulders. You’re training force production here. Full effort, full intent.

2. A2 β€” DUMBBELL FLYES x 8 (10-15 sec rest between)
After the press your chest and shoulders still have plenty in the tank.
So we follow it immediately with a lighter, stretch-focused movement.

More range.
More pump.
More muscle stimulus.

The bench builds strength.
The fly builds muscle.

Together they give you both in a single superset β€” more work, more results, less time.

PARTNER KETTLEBELL SWINGS πŸ”₯

One of the most underrated drills for building a faster, tighter swing

Last night in class we ran partner-assisted swings β€” and this is one of my favourite variations to coach because it teaches something most people never think about: overspeed.

Here’s what makes the kettlebell different from every other tool in the gym:

❌ 1. THE BELL CAN TRAVEL FASTER THAN GRAVITY

A barbell can’t do this. A dumbbell can’t do this. A kettlebell can β€” because at the top of the swing, instead of letting gravity bring it back down, you actively pull it down. That active pull is what creates overspeed. The turnaround gets faster. The hinge gets sharper. Everything tightens up.

❌ 2. NOW ADD A PARTNER
When the bell reaches its float at the top, your partner adds a small push of force back down. That extra input speeds up the turnaround even more β€” and forces you to own the hinge under a faster load. It’s a demanding drill and that’s exactly why it works.

❌ 3. EARN THIS DRILL FIRST
Before you try partner swings, you need a solid swing already in place. Hip hinge pattern, timing, bracing β€” all of it needs to be there. If it is, add a partner. You’ll feel the difference immediately.

Pull the bell. Own the hinge. Move fast.
