Weighted, bodyweight, band-assisted, negatives, general back strengthening — if there’s a way to do them, I’m doing it.
Turns out making them my long-term little project is actually kinda fun… and makes me feel like a badass

This is a reminder that rest is a RIGHT, not a reward.
We grow up being taught that we get rewarded for productivity. Once you do your homework, you can play. Once you finish cleaning up your toys then you can watch tv.
But in adulthood we think we need to be productive all the time. We forget about rest, or use it as a reward once we’ve done ~everything~.
But rest IS productive.
When we rest we can do more, feel more and be more. When we rest we feel better and more energized. Rest is necessary; mentally and physically.

Grow muscle and gain strength with ✨progressive overload✨
The gradual increase of stress put on your body to elicit a change, necessary for muscle growth and strength gains. Basically increasing the difficulty of a lift.
Now, we’re not looking for a switch up ~every~ single session, every few sessions is enough.
It’s not just increasing weight, here’s how to progressive overload:
➡️ increase the weight used
➡️ increase number of reps
➡️ increase number of sets
➡️ increase frequency of training
➡️ switch up tempo, add pauses
➡️ switch up rest time between reps/sets

Build CONFIDENCE in the gym 💪🏼⚡️
No doubt that the gym can be an intimidating place. I used to workout alone in the corner when I first started. Comfort comes with time and a bit of faking it.
Here are my tips to feel confident in the gym ↙️
⚡️Wear what you feel confident in! Choose happy colours (dopamine dressing) and comfortable attire that doesn’t chafe, fall down or bunch up.
⚡️Plan ahead and do what you said you were going to. Sticking to your guns and following through proves you are in control of your own life. A program helps with this!
⚡️Choose music that makes you feel like a BADA$$! The right tunes set the tone for a great workout, boost your mood and improve focus. Block everyone out and do your thing!
⚡️Self talk! Be your own hype-person. Talk yourself up & slap your own A$$, as would say lol
