Registration for the 2026 CAF Fall Seminar with Osawa Shihan is now open!
This year will be Aikidaily’s 10-year anniversary and they are excited to host Osawa sensei in Squamish for the first time.

The dates are from October 16 to 18, 2026 at Capilano University in Squamish.

L’inscription au Stage d’automne 2026 de la FCA avec Osawa Shihan est maintenant ouverte!
Cette année marque le 10e anniversaire d’Aikidaily, et ils sont très heureux d’accueillir Osawa sensei à Squamish pour la première fois.

We’d like to thank all the participants for joining us at the 2026 CAF Summer Camp in Toronto.
The quality of a camp depends not just on having a great instructor like Osawa-sensei, but on having dedicated, enthusiastic participants of all levels on the tatami.
From that point of view, camp was a great success!

🥋Instructor Intros d’instructeurs.trices: ADRIAN ILIESCU SENSEI, 5. DAN, SHIDOIN🥋

Adrian Iliescu began Aikido in Romania in 1991 under Cris Rusu Sensei, and continued his early development with Ioan Grigorescu, Dan Ionescu, and Șerban Derlogea Senseis. After moving to Canada, he joined the Japanese Canadian Cultural Centre in 1999, training under Osamu Obata Sensei for nearly two decades. Following Obata Sensei’s retirement in 2018, Adrian became Chief Instructor of JCCC Aikikai.

Within the Canadian Aikido Federation, he received long‑term guidance from Yukio Kawahara Shihan, and after Kawahara Sensei’s passing, continued his study under Hayato Osawa Sensei. Adrian has travelled to Japan several times, training at Aikikai Hombu Dojo, Meiji Jingu Shiseikan, Shosenji, Kudamatsu, and other dojos.

He currently serves as vice-president on the CAF Board of Directors and is president of the Board of the Ontario Aikido Federation.

Iliescu-sensei is teaching a class at camp on Tuesday July 7 @ 8:30 AM.

Adrian Iliescu a commencé l’aïkido en Roumanie en 1991 sous la direction de Cris Rusu Sensei, puis a poursuivi sa formation initiale auprès des Senseis Ioan Grigorescu, Dan Ionescu et Șerban Derlogea. Après s’être installé au Canada, il a rejoint le Centre culturel japonais-canadien (JCCC) en 1999, où il s’est entraîné sous la direction d’Osamu Obata Sensei pendant près de deux décennies. Après le départ à la retraite d’Obata Sensei en 2018, Adrian est devenu instructeur en chef du JCCC Aikikai.

Au sein de la Fédération canadienne d’aïkido, il a bénéficié des conseils de Shihan Yukio Kawahara pendant de nombreuses années et, après le décès de Sensei Kawahara, a poursuivi son apprentissage auprès de Sensei Hayato Osawa. Adrian s’est rendu à plusieurs reprises au Japon, où il s’est entraîné à l’Aikikai Hombu Dojo, au Meiji Jingu Shiseikan, au Shosenji, à Kudamatsu et dans d’autres dojos.

Il occupe actuellement le poste de vice-président au sein du conseil exécutif de la FCA et est président du conseil exécutif de la Fédération d’aïkido de l’Ontario.

Iliescu-sensei enseigne un cours au camp le mardi 7 juillet à 8 h 30.
