Heavy front squats are one of the most demanding core exercises you can perform. Because the weight is loaded anteriorly, your torso is constantly fighting to prevent itself from collapsing forward. This forces your entire posterior chain and anterior core—specifically the re**us abdominis and obliques—into an intense isometric contraction just to keep you upright.
