The 13th Annual Toronto Run of Hope was a big success. Thank you RCU and Paramos CU for the financial and moral support. Thank you Toronto Ausra Sports Club and Toronto Maironio School for the invitations and advertisements.
Thanks also to Maryte Hurst and Dave Mills for the donation they collected. The 13th Run for Hope raised $4,700.00 for the Cancer Center! Thanks again to Gintara, Ricardas and their four children for the great organization. 💛💚❤️

Last but not least...there was a special magic on the Pickleball courts this last weekend...We were thrilled to officially reintroduce Pickleball to the SALFASS Sports Games lineup this year and it was made profoundly special by a spectacular group of lifelong friends—Rasa Malinauskas, Asta Defina, Lydia Knorr, and Zita Nausediene—who participated as Toronto Ausra athletes.

A massive, roaring congratulations to Rasa Malinauskas for capturing the Silver Medal! Beyond her triumph on the court, Rasa is the phenomenal Vice President of Sports for the Ausra Sports Club. She worked tirelessly behind the scenes to ensure the entire trip and tournament ran flawlessly for everyone.

Thank you to Detroit Sporto Klubas for bringing Pickleball into the Games this year. Grateful to the SALFASS organization for leading our Lithuanian sports community.

After a very successful season leading to a wonderful SALFASS 2026 games in Detroit the Toronto Lithuanian community echoes the words of Ona Stanevicius-Mills in
"Expressing our tremendous gratitude to Toronto Ausra SC board members: president Viktorija Tatarskyte, vice- presidents Rasa Malinauskaite ir Sauliukas McLean, member-at-large Eugenijus Kriksciunas. Running a sports club which was established in 1955 with sports which include basketball, table tennis, volleyball, tennis, and pickleball takes tremendous self-sacrifice. Although these four board members are supported by other incredible board members, there is always room for others. Consider joining this team at the next AGM held in September 2026. Go Ausra!"💛💚❤️

"This past weekend, we had a successful ŠALFASS trip, representing our Aušra club in Detroit, Michigan. Of the 13 table tennis competitors attending, over half were Aušra/Anapilis members - best turnout ever!
Special mention to medal performers:
Ona Stanevičius, #1 in ladies' singles & mxd. doubles,
Diane Kriksciunas, second in mxd.(with Eugenius) & ladies singles,
Dainius & daughter Gabi Šaudys, third in mixed doubles,
Linas & son Ignas Šlyka, third in mens' doubles!
The Games venues, social events, accomodations were organized in quality manner: interaction among host Detroit, Cleveland, New York, Chicago and Toronto athletes, supporters of basketball, pickleball was enjoyed immensely. 2027 Games are slated for the U.S., 2028 back here in Ontario.
I express my sincere gratitude for the Ausra board President, Victoria Tatarskyte, V.P.s Rasa Malinauskas & son Saul for their diligent effort in preparing for the annual sports games. As well, thanks to Melinda, Gaile, Daniel, Mark and Graeme, who serve our cause in leadership.
