Come out for some great competition and meet awesome people!
For Mike McCausland, this week is a first.
Three years into playing co****le, the Ontario player from Alton Airmail has made his way to Orillia for his first Canadian National Co****le Championships.
And from the sounds of it, he’s not making it complicated.
Have some fun. Meet some new people. Enjoy the week.
Mike throws AAR Shockwaves and already has a pretty good Orillia memory in the bank, having picked up a Tier 3 tournament win here before.
Now the stage is a little bigger.
There are players here from across the country, a National Championship logo everywhere you look, and a whole lot more competition standing between everyone and the podium.
But when Mike talks about what keeps him coming back to the game, it isn’t really about the hardware anyway.
It’s the fun.
It’s the people.
It’s the co****le family that starts to form when you spend enough nights standing beside the same boards with people who were strangers not all that long ago.
That’s one of the best parts about someone experiencing Nationals for the first time.
You come in knowing the people from your club and your part of the province.
You leave knowing a whole bunch more.
Mike already knows what it feels like to win in Orillia.
This week he gets to find out what it feels like to compete at Nationals.
Enjoy the first one, Mike.
