💜 Your workout is one part of the picture. How you fuel your body matters, too!
If you’re working out consistently and hoping to lose body fat or look more “toned,” your nutrition deserves just as much attention.
There’s no magic percentage split between exercise and food. Nutrition plays a huge role in weight loss, while strength training helps build and preserve the muscle that creates definition. 💪
Yes, fat loss requires a calorie deficit—eating a little less energy than your body uses over time. But that doesn’t mean starving yourself!
The goal is to eat enough to support your health, fuel your workouts and recover, while creating a manageable deficit.
Ladies, getting enough protein matters! It helps repair and maintain muscle as you train and lose weight. But all three macronutrients have a role:
🥚 Protein: supports muscle repair and recovery.
🍓 Carbohydrates: provide energy for workouts and everyday life.
🥑 Fats: support normal hormone function and help your body absorb certain vitamins.
You don’t have to track every bite to start. Build balanced meals, include protein throughout the day, and pay attention to portions and consistency.
What could a day of eating look like? 🍽️
🥣 Breakfast: Plain Greek yogurt with oats, berries and chia seeds.
🥙 Lunch: A whole-grain wrap with chicken, hummus and plenty of vegetables, with fruit on the side.
🍎 Snack: Cottage cheese and an apple.
🐟 Dinner: Salmon, roasted potatoes and a generous serving of vegetables with olive oil.
This is a meal idea, not a prescribed calorie target. Adjust portions to your body, activity level and goals.
Pair that with strength training three times a week, ideally with recovery between sessions, and lighter movement like walking on the other days. 🚶♀️
And keep eating balanced meals on rest days—your body is still recovering!
Lift consistently. Fuel yourself well. Make room for recovery.
You’re building habits that help you feel stronger for life. 💜
